Give him a call now !!

I was looking for a counselor for my wife, and I ( 20 years difference in age ), who have been married 8.5 years, and living together for over 12 years. I was looking for someone who could relate well to both age ranges, and whose for beliefs wer similar to ours. Unfortunately, I have lots of experience with different counselors over the years. I can say WITHOUT HESITATION, that Rick is very professional, adaptable and thorough therapist. I say A++++++++++++. Give him a call now !! David

You’re likely here because something in your relationship has been building, and you’re not sure what will actually help shift it. What you need is something that changes how the two of you show up, not just another conversation about it. RLT Marriage Counselling is focused exclusively on couples' work using Relational Life Therapy (RLT), a direct, skills-based approach designed to create change inside the relationship as it’s happening. Sessions don’t stay at the level of talking things through. They work with the actual patterns, communication breakdowns, and reactions that show up between you in real time. The relationship itself is treated as the client. That shift brings clarity to what’s happening between you, not just within each of you. This approach creates structure around the work, so you’re not left guessing what to do next. Instead, you begin to see what’s been keeping you stuck and how to move it forward in a way that actually holds.

You might be hesitating to reach out because you don’t know what this process will be like, or how it will land for both of you. You need a space where both of you can be seen without being blamed or made the problem. This work is built on a no-blame approach, while still holding each person accountable for how they show up in the relationship. You’re not pushed into defensiveness or left trying to prove your side. You’re guided into understanding what’s happening between you and what each of you can do differently. Sessions are structured, direct, and grounded. There is room for honesty, but also enough support to stay in the conversation without it escalating or shutting down. Trust is built through clarity. You know what you’re working on, why it matters, and how it connects to the challenges you’re facing outside the session. The goal is not to take sides, but to help both of you feel understood while moving the relationship forward.

You’ve likely had conversations that go in circles or feel better for a moment, but don’t hold when things get tense again. You need something you can actually use in those moments, not just something to think about after. Each session is structured so you leave with practical tools you can apply right away. This includes how to interrupt the pattern when it starts, how to communicate without escalating, and how to repair when things go sideways. The work doesn’t stop when the session ends. You’re encouraged to apply what you’re learning between sessions, with support available if needed. Additional resources help reinforce the skills so they become something you can rely on, not just something you’ve heard once. The focus is on building consistency in how you show up together, so the changes you make don’t disappear the next time things get hard.
