I've been going here for the last 7 years and, its been a great experience. I've gotten some of my volunteer hours here. The staff have all seen me grow and mature. The students, volunteers, and staff are great people to be around. It's a great place to earn volunteer hours, learn karate, and make new friends. The staff are always super nice, no matter what day. If I go to karate in a bad mood, once my class is over I'll be smiling in a great mood, because of the staff, students and lessons. The stuff you learn, will most likely help you if you need it. This is a great place for anyone who would like to learn karate or learn how to defend themselves. 10/10

This is the best Karate school. The best part of this school is the master instructor teach his student to become a better person. He spend few minutes at the end of each class and share real life experiences with them. He love his student and want them achieve the best result. I send both my kids to this school.

*Age range is 4 to 7 class. Mr. Pearce punished my child (first, only occurrence of negative behavior). Never speaking with me after class about this matter being discussed with me as I have observed him do with other parents. My daughter was upset for obvious reasons, left me with an unsettling feeling things not being right in conduct overall. 2 weeks passed (class is 2x per week) no follow up from him, I was left with no alternative but to following up with the teacher myself. When approached, I observed him down play my concern when I was seeking his version of events and voiced my concerns. Saying things such as, they don't record behaviours and consequences, they use the belt as a tool for managing misbehavior, which was not asked of him. Simply, to verbally tell parents the events leading up to punishment, the reason behind the choice to use the punishment (suggested to conduct documentation for liability). The common punishment for percepived misbehavior is to remove out of the class. I have observed this and is appropriate for this age range. This wasn't done to my child (no prior negative behavior history). Thus is viewed as extream in nature. Kids are not able to developmently to distinguish the difference of earning the belt as a reward and using it as a punishment tool, thus the negative impact is felt. It is unacceptable to impose adult understanding on children who do not have the ability to fully grasp adult logic. I see nothing written on the website or pamphlet of the plan of action that would be taken in the event of negative behaviors. This leaves things open to making things up on the spur of the moment without carefully understanding the needs of the children or each child's background, this is outside of the karate relam which they are knowledgeable. As a result, my child is reluctant to further attend the school. I am left with distrust of the knowledge of developmently appropriate actions to discipline negative behaviors being conducted and view it as beyond the school scope of knowledge. I strongly suggest if a karate school wishes to implement punishment on young children, It would be wise to understand the development of children in these age ranges.

This Dojo is the epitome of what a classical martial arts school should be. The Sensei who runs the school is incredibly knowledgeable and wise. I've been training here for over 10 years now. I can say with absolute certainty that this place has saved my life. Between the classical martial arts virtues that are taught(Bushido) and the high quality self defence training. This is a place to sharpen your whole self, Mind, Body and Spirit. I highly recommend this school for anyone who is seeking out classical martial arts, whether your reasons are self defense, fitness, self improvement, spirituality you'll find it all here. The students that train here act like a family and always support each other. Its truly a very special place.
