I had a terrible experience at his office. I had an appointment at 8:15am and he didn't even show up to the office until 8:45. No apology - he barely acknowledged my presence before he started the "preventative work" they had prescribed. He made no attempt to explain what he was doing and part way through he declared to his assistant that it was time for a "jaw break" - both left the room without another word to me. I wear glasses which they had taken off for the work but when they left the room they left me without my glasses, in the dark, and no word as to whether I could get a glass of water, take a bathroom break or stretch my legs.
After about 10 minutes the assistant came back in and fitted me with a latex guard to isolate my teeth - apparently I have a lot of saliva. The only thing about this guard is that once it's in place you can't close your mouth - and it was another 10 to 15 minutes with this latex guard in my mouth before Babin came back to finish up, again with barely an acknowledgment that I was even there. Before I knew what was happening, he and his assistant had decided they were done, had their gloves/masks off and were half-way out the door before they asked - 'how does that feel?" Honestly, my bite didn't feel right at all but they are the professionals so I trusted their expertise. I said something like " Everything feels kind of strange" and they just kind of laugh and left. No follow up at all.
I paid my bill and left but when the freezing wore off I realized my bite was definitely off and my teeth felt rough. I called and they said its normal and I could book an appointment the next morning to have it adjusted. This is the busiest time of year for me with my job and I have very little free time. They assured me it would only take 20 minutes and I could come in the next day at 8:40. Again Babin wasn't even in the office when I arrived and it wasn't until almost 9:30 that I was even seen! I had a presentation that was very important for my organization scheduled for 11am that morning and I was barely able to make it there in time thanks to Babin's tardiness. I felt that he valued his time much more than my own.
I tried to ask if it wouldn't have been more efficient to take a moment to ask my how my bite felt at the end of my previous appointment so the corrections could have been taken care of at that time. Babin instantly became defensive and condescendingly asked if I was a dentist - No, of course not, but I am quite familiar with my own body, and I can tell when things feel off - If he had taken just a few moments to talk to me like a person during the initial work, I'm certain the correction could have been resolved at the time of the initial appointment instead of making me come back and wait for him to show up.
There were a lot of other negative details to my time at Babin's office but I don't want to spend any more of time on his horrible business... But I will say, with my limited free time, I felt it was important to leave this review. I felt Babin was unprofessional (he can set his own schedule... how is it he can't even show up to the office until 30 minutes after his first appointment, no excuse, no appology?) There are plenty of other dentists in this town I would recommend any other.
