Downtown DT Dental

Strongly recommend! Especially if you’re the type of person that hates going to the dentist. They make the procedures very comfortable and are not forceful. I had a filling done and it felt as easy as brushing my teeth. I even floss now I was so impressed.

I wrote a very forward post earlier on this dental office and more specifically Dr Boychuck. I removed it as I had put a lot of information in it. I’ve been ruminating on it for several months and honestly honestly Dr Boychuck is a terrible dentist, you should take your business and your insurance company’s money elsewhere. Please feel free to contact me directly via the review page here and I will fill you in with several instances where I was and still am left with pain from Dr Boychuck. I will be also contacting the Alberta dental association relating directly to how I was treated and not treated. Please heed my advice again and reconsider using another dental practice when looking for a dentist.

I have been to see Dr Boychuck on several occasions since 2017. I have had several interactions with Dr Boychuck directly. My overall impression after these interactions is that you should take your insurance company’s money or your own somewhere else. The initial sales pitch Dr Boychuck makes you feel like she has all the time in the world for you. In reality she overbooks is very busy and does not exude confidence or skill in her craft. The fact that there is not direct billing should stand out. Dr Boychuck has installed a crown for me done several fillings and sent me to a “specialist” because she replaced a very large amalgam filling on my rear bottom molar. Which should have been a root canal and a crown. I told her this and her response was “no a filling will do”. ( I had been to several dentists before who told me that I need a crown as the filling will be too large and it will push on the nerve when I bite and cause pain). I was skeptial but when a dentist just starts working away in your mouth you really don’t have too many options. Subsequently I returned to the office with pain in my tooth and gum. Dr Boychucks response was I need the filling adjusted and my bite adjusted so after grinding down several spots on several different teeth my bite is so out of wack my jaw now clicks. I returned several times and finally Dr Boychuck says after an x ray that was not needed I need to see a specialist and have a root canal and a crown put in because she does not do root canals. The other filling she has done also do not feel right ( I have had many fillings in the past darn British teeth) I had been in twice to have the fillings “adjusted” so she says. Still to no avail. I will admit she had installed one crown that seems to be working out ok so far. I will also say that I have had to wait long periods for the dentist as she seems to book appointments with other patients while she already has a patient. (although unfortunately this is common practice in the dental profession) The staff are great although they seem busy as they run the front desk and do the patients paper work insurance payments etc.I’ve never actually been to an office that the dental assistants also run the front desk there is usually a dedicated secretary. Not the case at downtown DT dental though.

I highly recommend this clinic to family and friends. The dentist and team are friendly and professional. I always have a great experience at this office.

Honestly a great experience! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. l will be recommending my friends and family!
