I wish I could write praises just like the rest of their patients' parents before me. Unfortunately, it was the worst experience for myself and for my daughter ever. My daughter was referred to this dentistry by our family dentist because of her anxiety. We got a call from them, made an appointment and had it confirmed a couple of days before the day. We come to our appointment and find out that it was actually booked in Winnipeg, not in Steinbach. And not a single time, as I spoke to their receptionists on the phone, did they mention that it was in Winnipeg. Well, it's okay, things like that happen. I asked for another appointment. After the first appointment we received a plan of treatment and I was asked if I also would like to book a cleaning. I said, yes. So we were scheduled for a cleaning right before the treatment. Some time later I remembered that my girl actually had cleaning not long ago and decided to cancel it. So I called the dentistry to cancel the cleaning appointment and found out they didn't even have it in their system... It's kind of interesting, because I had, still have that paper with all the appointments, with the cleaning as the fist one and they say, they don't have any cleaning appointment for us... It's good that I was going to cancel it anyways, but how would you like it to come to an appointment and being told that you didn't even have it? Anyways, the first treatment appointment was good. My girl was administered nitrous oxide and started crying only at the very end of the treatment, when I assume, she was already being given oxygen to get the nitrous oxide out of her system. The next appointment was a disaster. Again, they placed a gas mask on her nose and we waited for quite a long time for the doctor to start. I didn't mind the waiting as I thought this way they were making sure the gas would start working, before giving her the freezing shot. Unfortunately, my daughter started screaming right as the doctor tried to give her the shot. I was surprised, because the gas was supposed to make you relaxed. She was not relaxed at all. Then the drilling started and she was screaming at the tops of her lungs. I noticed that one of the tubes on the mask was bent, one on side the tube ran smoothly, as should be. But the other one was dented towards inside. I tried to talk to the doctor and the assistant that maybe she was not getting enough gas, because one of tubes was blocked. They didn't pay attention, the assistant said the hole is big, so it's not a problem. Later I saw the hole, it was not more than 3/16'' and that bend was definitely blocking that gas passage on that side. I told that to the doctor, she just yelled back "How do you know?" (I don't blame her for yelling, because we all had too to be able to hear something above my poor girls screams) But it was absolutely obvious!!!! I was shocked!!! I told them I was just going to take a picture of that. Only after that did they reacted to my words and at least tried to check the mask. They didn't do anything about it, it still stayed knicked in. the doctor put on that blue film around the teeth to be treated and started drilling. I saw the water from drilling getting through the hole in the film into the mouth, partly because my girl was moving. The assistant was sucking water only from the top of the film, not a single time underneath the film. WHY? Then I hear that sound like my girl is gargling and choking! Moms, what would you do if you heard your kid choking? I jumped up and grabbed my girl and propped her upright. I just couldn't believe it was happening. Please, why the assistants starting sucking stuff from under the film only after my girl nearly choked... My girl was IN PAIN! The doctor tried to play it down that she was just being upset. as she was crying 'it hurts' as the doctor was blowing air into her cavity, the doctor then put her finger between the air from drill and the cavity to prove to me that my girl was just being difficult and asked her if it hurt, she said 'no'. That proves that it was real PAIN she was crying about
