Genuinely poor experience. Nothing overwhelmingly malicious like malpractice but still largely disappointing. Context: I had two cavities filled and had x-ray's and an oral exam done two weeks prior. I only came here because I wasn't able to get an appointment at my regular dentist before my insurance expired. The first issue I'd like to raise is hidden cost. Having my x-ray's and oral exam already done, I asked before my appointment if I would be charged any cost for the reading of my x-rays, I was told explicitly that I wouldn't be and would only be charge for my fillings. I was charged $140. My second qualm is my actual experience as a patient. I found my dentist to be apathetic at best. She had low emotional literacy, empathy, and communication skills. A large part of the role of a health professional is to communicate what is about to happen and to manage expectations. This was done so poorly. It felt like a struggle to even get her to begin to string together a few words about the implications of what her observations were or what she was about to do. I also found the dentist and her assistant disrespectful when I was having my teeth filled. They hardly showed any care about my well being, they spoke over me throughout the entirety of my time there, their actions were rushed, and they were not gentle. Again apathetic. To add insult to injury, the cost was 30% higher than what it would have been at my regular dentist. Poor service *and* higher prices. To recap: Expensive, poor communication, rushed, failure to manage expectations, disrespectful staff, hidden costs. Consolation: The front lines staff were friendly and welcoming. They had availability 2 days before my eventual appointment. Would not recommend. If you're needing something in the area, I'd recommend my regular dentist 10 minutes South on Bathurst.

Coming here was one of the BEST decisions I made in my life. Outstanding service for unbelievably affordable price. Dr. Venus Sobhi is a wizard, she probably went to Hogwarts as well - she is that good. I had to remove my wisdom teeth and it was a complicated case. It took Dr. Sobhi 5 minutes max and I did not feel any pain whatsoever. I was not even swollen afterwards. I even want to go back and do it again but I ran out of wisdom teeth. I had a dentist for a long time and I was perfectly happy with him, but my friend recommended Dr Sobhi and I'm never going to any other clinic but Kingwest Dental. Thank you Dr. Sobhi. PS: Also, staff is very friendly and helpful!

If going to the dentist makes you nervous, go to Kingwest. I avoided wisdom teeth extractions for 10 years only to have Dr. Sobhi pull them with only local in less than 5 minutes. No pain, no discomfort, no fear. Cleanings, fillings, all of my experiences here have been pleasant. Dr. Sobhi and her team are seriously the best! And considering the services you receive, the price is extremely affordable.
