Brought a group of clients to China with Panda Vacations in April 2016. Loved it!!! Great personal service and the quality of the trip was up to par: hotels, activities, restaurants.... I was happy I didn't do business with Sinorama, as it is a very industrial product. I loved Panda. And it's right here in Ottawa!

I am writing this review to warn people about inexpensive tours to China. Their target market are Asian people from North America.These tours are not offered to the general public. If you or your parents are thinking about participating in such tours, please read the rest of the review as a warning. My parents took a China tour through this company and had terrible experience. The inexpensive china tours are a scam. This tour included hotel, transportation and hotel and some meals at a low cost. When you arrive to China is there they get you; there are tone of hidden fees and pressure sales. Here are a few things about this trip: In addition to the initial cost of the tour, you need to pay a deposit which is non refundable if you leave the tour early for any reason, there are mandatory tips to the tour guide and drivers which was more than what was quoted in the initial package. Every day, tour guides would remind you that they live off of tips to feed their family. If you fall ill or something happens where you are not able to attend the tour, you are forced to pay a fee for every day missed. They were forced to buy products various operators and will not let you leave until the group sales quota were met. Food was limited to veggie plates and rice and quantities were not enough to feed the 40 tourists. My parents ended spending an additional ~$10k CAD during this tour. Whether you take my review serious or not. Please ask questions before paying for these kinds of tours. Here are a few , (some may be applicable to you): 1) Why is there a deposit fee when I"already" paid for the tour? 2) How much time is dedicated to "shopping"? 3) Is there a quota or expectation to spend money at these factors? 4) How much time will I need to spend at each shopping location? 5) How much time will I get at each tour attraction? 6) If there are "optional items" on the itinerary, i.e attending shows or plays, and I don't want to participate, what are my other options? Am I forced to stay on the bus or go walking around while waiting for others gone to the show? Or can I go back to my hotel? 7) What will happen if I fall ill and cannot attend part of the tour? 8) Did the tour operator give you all your paper work (ie. flight receipts, flight documents, etc)? 9) Why is the tour so cheap?
