I've been a patient with Rocky Mountain Dental for 3 years now and have referred quite a few people here. I usually have pleasant experiences with the staff however after today I will no longer be treated at this office. I went in December for a four month cleaning which was not covered by my insurance. The young lady at the front desk told me the cost was $150 which I paid. After my cleaning I had to see Dr. Mike about my wisdom tooth. He wanted me to schedule an appointment to have both bottom wisdom teeth pulled. I objected for two reasons; the first reason was because he wanted to have both bottom teeth pulled when only one is growing out. The second being that he pulled my top wisdom teeth two years ago, at that time he told me that my bottom wisdom teeth were under my molars and they would not come up, I explained that the right wisdom tooth makes appearances through my gums every now and then. When mentioned these points Dr. Mike laughed at me and told me the teeth need to come out either way. I left feeling belittled and wondered if I'd return. Last Friday I received a bill for an additional $45 for the cleaning that took place in December. I called in today to inquire about it and the woman I spoke to was incredibly rude. She first said I didn't have insurance and that's why I had to pay $195 for the cleaning. I explained to her that I did have insurance but my insurance only covers 2 cleanings per year not the 4 cleanings that I am being scheduled for. At that point the lady told me that they credited my account $150, I told her that I paid $150 at the time of the appointment because I was told that was the final cost. Then she says, "Oh that's old and someone forgot to take it off, you have a zero balance." So why was a bill sent to me in the first place? What if I just paid without questioning? How many other bills have I paid that were mistakes? I then asked to cancel all future appointments. The lady laughed and asked when my next appointment was. I told her I did not know off the top of my head but it maybe in April. I was told I would be removed from the schedule and was hung up on.

Dr. Mike and his staff are very professional and caring. I've been a patient for nearly 20 years and though I moved from Lakewood to Thornton 14 years ago, I make the commute to see Dr. Mike!
