I took my dog here Jan. 1st and told the vet she had a possible obstruction. He told me to come down from Eads. After getting there at the time I was told to meet him I then waited 40 minutes. When I finally did get in to see the vet he took a single x-ray of my dog and told me she did not have an obstruction and told me she only had gas. After giving her a prescription for gas he sent us on our way. 10 days later and 10 lbs lighter of a dog I took her back and asked them to monitor her because she wasn't getting better. This time the female vet gave me the exact same prescription as the first vet and told me her vitals were fine. A few more days pass and my dog still isn't better so I decide to take her to a different vet. Dr. Eaton thought it might have been a possible obstruction but I assured him it wasn't because of the recent x-ray done at Lamar Animal Medical. He was confused about what could be wrong and told me to send her somewhere to get blood work done. Arkansas Valley Animal Hospital in La Junta Colorado currently saved my dogs life from an obstruction after $300 worth of unnecessary blood work was done and all came back negative. Ark Valley called and got the x-ray from Lamar and noticed an obstruction. The vets at this hospital almost cost my dog her life. Her intestine was split because we had waited so long to get her the surgery only because we were told by Lamar Animal Med Center that there was absolutely no obstruction. When I called to ask for some funds reimbursed since they did nothing to help my dog I was hit with many different excuses as to why it is not their fault. Do yourself a favor and go to Ark Valley in La Junta first before wasting time and money here. Also some of their reviews are from people they have working as vets there. I wonder if they are biased?

Worst vet ever. When you call to find out the price of a neutering. You call to find out the price your will be paying when you go to pick your pet up. That includes the pain meds and anything else involved. It’s complete BS that I was told it would be $55 and then the the pain meds would cost extra THE DAY OF the appointment!!! I was expecting to pay no more than $55 and I ended up paying 80 effing dollars!!! $25 more that I expected to pay!!! I DO NOT recommend this vet. Understand people want to know everything about what they are spending their money on and everything means EVERYTHING!!! Not just the surgery itself! I will NEVER go here EVER AGAIN

Amy K's review should be disregarded because she works there. This place is too expensive.Apparently these people need help reading x-rays also. They almost cost my dog her life. I was told she didn't have an obstruction and was given gas medicine for her twice. Even though they all but admitted fault to me they do not want to reimburse me for the emergency fee, useless x-rays, or useless medication my dog received twice. This place is not at all professional. Do yourself a favor and don't bother taking your animals here. Replying to owners reply I have emailed and asked for ark valley's statement cause I couldn't pinpoint it in your response. Waiting for that! I will agree that Stulp did ask how my dog was in person at a local restaurant. I said she seems better but she's still not eating. He must have taken that as she's completely fine. Thats not what was actually said though. Also did Stulp still think she was fine when I brought her back 10 days after seeing him in the restaurant, and I said she's not better? That was when you guys gave me the second prescription for gas. Oh and you tried selling me dog food for her "special digestive system". But was that a good sign she was okay? When I asked for money back for the unnecessary prescriptions, Stulp told me he would take them back. But he couldn't redund me for them. Also I think it's awesome you have employees responding to these to make you look better, and leaving you reviews. I'm still convinced you're a horrible place. I brought her in and diagnosed her. All you had to do was look at an x-ray and confirm it. You wanted to sell me dog food and more prescriptions.
