This is terrific; applause to the many people who make it possible. We thought the animals looked very healthy, some just coming out of hibernation. A little concerned about the lack of shade in the summer, but we did see some small trees so they are working on it, I guess. We visited on an overcast day with temps in the 60s, so it wasn't a problem that day. Fantastic to see those big cats up close. We would suggest asking for donations at the end of the visit, rather than the beginning, because visitors will have a better sense of how much is involved in the operation and probably would be willing to give more. There were several guides on the walkway, very willing to provide information. Loved the fact that most of the animals had names and bios; really makes the visitor appreciate what goes in to providing them with a peaceful place to live.

Excellent animal sanctuary. Yes its pricey, but its private and worth it. You walk on a cat walk about 30 feet or so in the air with animals all around you and beneath you. It can get warm and windy. It takes roughly 2-3 hours to see it all, bring sunscreen and water. It is a 3 mile walk, so bring comfy shoes. We saw several animals and got some excellent pictures. I highly recommend it.

Love the sanctuary. Some of the reviews on here seem to complain about either not being able to “see” anything (they have little designated sight viewers a few places on the walkway, so I know that isn’t true) and the price of admission. Those admission fees are absolutely needed to keep this place even open to the public. It is not a zoo, it’s a sanctuary that exists for educational purposes. There are ways to donate (becoming an active supporter) that make it so that they can visit it anytime they want and their donation goes straight to the animals.

It had a nice appearance and of course, the money you spend is worth going towards maintenance and such but we saw 15 or so animals out of “450”. And only 1 pathway for the entire 650 acres with many different enclosures. Also, they don’t tell you to bring binoculars but if you want to see ANYTHING, you should bring your own. My opinion is, they need better natural environments, more water for each enclosure, less vehicles coming through and less construction areas to make for a more comfortable place. No trees or shade is provided. We didn’t have a bad experience but not at all what we expected!

Been there a few times with family from Europe. Always amazing to see the dedication of everyone involved. The walkway is awesome and the staff always helpful with elderly members that may have needs. Its not a zoo or circus show and thats good because the money spent goes into helping the animals that dummies should have never had.. Educational and all the exercise of the mind and body you want. Will return..
