I have been going to Monarch since I was about 2yrs old & am now taking my 1.5yrs old daughter skiing here. The culture at Monarch has changed a little in that time, but not by much. It is in a National Park on the Continental Divide with beautiful views and great people. It is a smaller park with less frills than other nearby parks. You will have a 20min or more drive from the closest hotels. If a small Mountain of great beauty with great people is what you seek, then this is the place for you. If you are looking for a larger number of slopes with more terrain parks, tobogganing, & hotels right on the mountain, then Monarch is not for you. I love this mountain more than any other mountain I have ever met. The Sidewinder Saloon attached to the lodge is fun spot with lots of new friends to meet. I loved getting hot chocolate in the Sidewinder Saloon as a kid, because they used to add a cherry on top. Sadly they i don't think they do that anymore.

Wow!!! Our family had a wonderful experience at Monarch. It was our kids' first time skiing. They left ski school confident and ready to hit the slopes! The instructors were great and so helpful. Lynette & Liam were great! If you're looking for a family-friendly environment with AMAZING staff, look no further than Monarch! Robert made our kids' first experience even better with his humor and upbeat personality! All around, a wonderful trip! We'll be back :)

Went to Monarch on New Years Eve. Had a great time. Not a lot of snow but still good. Took a Mini and Me lesson with Sean S and really impressed on the time he took teaching us how to teach her to snowboard. Also did the daycare in the am and she had a great time. Thank you guys for providing such a great service and value!!!

Great facility and even greater staff. On each of our three days here some staff member was going the extra mile to take care of some particular request of ours. Took a group lesson with Riley - a natural born teacher. Lift line workers were always friendly and cheerful. The people here make the awesome skiing even better.

Awesome first time at Monarch! My wife and I are new to skiing and had a wonderful experience taking the three hour lesson (Michael was a great instructor who continued to instruct even as we ran into him later on the slopes). By the end of our two days there, we were riding the lifts (no lines) to the top of the mountain and confidently skiing down! We really enjoyed our time and can't wait to go back!
