Great place to spend a day with family. A fantastic place to hike and picnic. Bring the sunblock and Plenty of water though! There are so many wonderful sites to explore here! Know matter how many times I explore in Colorado it just amazes me with all the beauty I have yet to see. If you get time make time to explore here because it's an amazing site to see.

So glad we ventured here. It's so stunningly beautiful! I'd recommend wearing gloves as the rocks may hurt your hands a bit. Also wear sunglasses, the sun reflecting off the limestone is a bit much on the eyes. We had an absolute blast and couldn't believe we had never heard of this place before.

Such a beautiful place, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Plan on walking an easy trail (and possibly some rocks in your shoes), seeing colorful rocks, windmills, deer, and pretty wildflowers depending on the time of year. There is a bathroom at just one of the parking lots, there are signs with geological information, and dogs are not allowed though I don't think a lot of people realize that.

It will astound you if you let it. Keep exploring until you find the color. The formations are impressive on their own, but the bands of red and yellow clay amaze. How much color you see depends a lot on the lighting, which you can see in these pictures.
