I am very unhappy with the service in his office... what should have taken maybe two days, over two weeks later I had too call for an appointment and still couldn't get one they didn't call my insurance I had to do the leg work for them and Dr. Atebara receptionist never called me to let me know what was going on my insurance stated they cover ... So now my husband is upset and I am in pain

I'll make a very important clarification here: Robert Atebara is a very knowledgeable and friendly doctor and I did appreciate his advice. What I disliked was his office policy and his prices. I'm a single Dad and I live on a pretty tight budget. I have one tooth (#7) where the gum has grown down such that it doesn't match it's pair. I had this procedure done before and paid a minimal amount at the UCLA Dental School. I knew what I wanted, exactly, so when I called in and asked how much it would cost, I was told "I can't tell you that, I don't have access to pricing." I explained my situation and said it would be helpful to know prior to any appointment. I was told the initial consult is about $73 dollars, so I thought, well that's pretty affordable, I guess I'll go in. After consult, I was handed over to another woman who finally revealed the pricing: $650 dollars! This is for removing 1.5mm of gum on one tooth! Outrageous. If they would have told me, even the price range is about $600 per tooth, I would have said "Thanks anyway, I can't afford that right now." It would have saved us both time and frustration.
