Great family dentist. Does what is needed. Doesn't push you to have unnecessary work done. Staff is always helpful and professional. I bring all my kids here and everybody loves Dr Passehl and the staff.

Jun 17, 2014
Dr. Passehl was our family dentist for 20 years. Today we made the switch and I am here to enlighten people. It was scary to switch, but it was all prompted by the rude inept staff of those front reception ladies Passehl hired. I made an appointment at 11am a week in advance, but when I showed up they had no record of my appointment. Their first response was to ask if I was in the right office in the building! I was absolutely shocked at this accusation, that I would be as inept as they are. Then they found my name in the computer but then said it may have been booked over with an emergency appointment. I was forced to take a day off and drive far to get here, so I knew walking out I was going to a new dentist, and it was for the best. I found Schaumburg Dental Studio with Dr. Patel and it was an amazing experience. Zero pain, cheap cost, staff that talked to me and cared! I think the downfall of Passehl's practice starts with his greed and attitude and rolls downhill to his reception. I even called to re-schedule and the lady said "ok that's fine, yup" and hung up on me after I said "I cannot make it to today's appointment". The following are true testaments as to why I think Pasehl and his girls are the worst you can choose for dentistry: 1) He charged my girlfriend $180 to xray and visually inspect her teeth. 2) Dr. Jignesh Patel of Schaumburg Dental Studio charged me only $200 to FILL A CAVITY 3) Dr. Passehl would always just pop in for a 2 minute checkup at the end of our cleanings, never offer any advice or talk to you. 4) Dr. Passehl wants you to foot his Barrington taxes by charging double and triple price 5) Their reception suddenly didn't have me in their system after 20 years of me going!! 6) The hygienists Passehl hires always gave self righteous comments about my teeth (I've only had 2 cavities in 26 years, but for each cleaning they said I was doing a bad job of cleaning around my permanent lower retainer) 7) Dr. Patel and his staff noted the retainer plaque issue, blamed the overly bulky design of the intricate retainer, said it wasn't fair to me and SHAVED IT DOWN free of cost. 8) If you say you have no insurance to Passehl, it's their green light to charge you double price. 9) If you say you have no insurance to Patel, they give you discounts and plans 10) Dr. Passehl's staff always gives you a cold shoulder when you enter or leave 11) I walked away from Dr. Patel's office feeling cared for excessively. 12) The cavity Dr. Patel filled for me was a past mistake not drilled out fully by Passehl 13) My father was fooled by Passehl's office on a root canal. They said it was covered by insurance, then changed their minds afterwards, leaving him with a $1,500 bill that he will never pay. 14) My father's friend went to Passehl and has had tooth pain ever since he worked on that tooth 15) My first filling ever by Passehl was 10 shades too yellow for my white teeth! Even he admitted to the mistake when he viewed it during a checkup! Needless to say, I am writing all of this to help other people in this area to choose the best care. I was treated poorly by Passehl and I am so glad it took a major screwup by his office to finally kick me in the pants and give me the courage to walk into a brand new place. This is a 100% genuine customer review, and I will do my best to bring Patel of Schaumburg Dental Studio some business. I feel a duty to do so after finally waking up from poor service that I had just gotten used to all these years. Dr. Passehl, our family is done footing the bill for your Barrington property taxes and office rent. You have effectively driven out thousands upon thousands of future dollars by ridding out my family and friends.
