GOOD SAMARITAN IS INDEED A BLESSING! Just be prepared; if you walk in with any dignity regarding the personal circumstances that facilitated your need to become a patient of Good Samaritan of Cobb, you will leave with a little less dignity and feeling a bit helpless to do anything about it. So be patient, aware and tough it out so you can get the medical attention you need. The front desk and Pharmacy staff have no clue what it means to service others in a Human Services capacity, which means servicing those who are financially disparaged and distressed because they are experiencing a lack of; or have to struggle to get something that is necessary for survival. Surviving is something of importance to most. The staff’s lack of compassion or genuineness to help others under these circumstances is unethical and irresponsible. No one wants to feel worse about the need for help from those who are empowered by how bad they can make you feel for needing their help. There is noticeably no training afforded these employees in the field of Human Services, Ethical Behavior or even Professionalism and obviously no consideration for their lack of qualifications in these areas, when they are hired. I gave a rating of 2 stars because at least 1 star is required to leave a review and the 2nd star is because THE MEDICAL STAFF IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST, which makes sense because in order to be credentialed in their medical field, their training, education and desire to be helping professionals is supported by a Human Services Foundation of genuinely and compassionately helping those in need get the treatment they need . It is not rocket science to realize that most patrons being mistreated will not complain they are just grateful to have access to affordable medical assistance without the stress of emergency room bills, or going without any treatment at all. However, it is an oxymoron to be a Religious, Charitable Human Services organization that allows unkind, exacerbated and condescending administrative and pharmacy staff to remain employed there while conveying a feeling that the patron needs them more than they need to care about how they make patron's feel, and what patron's are there for. As service professionals, they are not expected to accept being mistreated by their patrons either, but the staff’s inability to patiently and correctly handle issues regarding something as important as medication refills, appointments and administrative aspects with some modicum of patience and consideration for the patrons distress in these matters, (which the staff usually causes) is cause for concern. Our need for a meaningful, productive and dignified quality of life is supported by a healthy existence, which we HOPE can be managed within a healthy health service experience. Forget the hopes and take what you can get, if you need health services from Good Samaritan of Cobb's Administrative and Pharmacy staff. This review is only meant to prepare others who find themselves in need of these services. And if you have to become an ongoing patron and continue to have bad experiences the best you can do is share your experiences with others and hope for change. Warm Regards.
