your job search. " Immediately after reading this, I was astonished at how terrible "her" service was, and so (knowing that they had nearly $1000 of my money) I requested a full refund as no services had been rendered. I received no further correspondence, so I informed his "receptionist" that I'd be escalating this matter to the media if I don't receive my refund. Approximately a week later (end of July 2020) I received a "Cease & Desist Demand Letter" which essentially requested my signature in exchange for my refund. It had to be signed within 5 business, needed to be notarized, and basically had me admitting that I was engaging in criminal behaviour. I called the Law Society of Ontario. They referred me to a lawyer who replied to the demand letter on my behalf & who also instructed me to file complaint with LSO. Neither her or I have received any correspondence in return, and I've since learned that Brian C. Smith isn't even a lawyer. He's a paralegal with a suspended license!

matters could be dealt with by means on digital correspondence. While attempting to look for his phone number I discovered that his website no longer existed. Once I located the phone number through prior correspondence (e-mails), I learned that his phone number was also disconnected. I sent an e-mail to him and his "receptionist's" e-mail address and to inquire about the website and phone number disconnection alike. The "receptionists" reply: "Mr. Cooper, I don't have any instructions to discuss Mr. Smith's condition but I will say he is presently under physicians care." When I replied and began to ask more questions, I was replied with this..." Mr. Cooper, Your insensitivity is disgusting and I think you need to reflect on why you are lacking in basic dignity and empathy. If Mr. Smith recovers you will get a report. If he does not, whomever overtakes the matter will render it to you. Until then, you are welcome to request updates but do not expect speedy replies. Good luck in your jo

and suggested that he enter into mediation. A few weeks passed, and in mid February 2020 I received an invoice for $850.00 + tax for his services (with the following description): "Engage In Conference Negotiation Pursuant Resolution Of Matter. (Pre-Litigation)". Having now been unemployed for over a month, I didn't have the fees at this time to pay. I told Mr. Smith that in March, I would be closing the sale of my house and that I'd be able to pay him then. On March 9th 2020, my house sale closed. I was still unemployed. On March 13th (the same week, and the week that Covid-19 crashed into our lives), I sent a total of $960.50 to Mr. Smith via e-transfer. As Covid-19 took its course and the economy began to re-open (courts included), I sent a follow up e-mail to Mr. Smith (June 2020). I received a very short and very vague response suggesting courts were still closed. I waited exactly one more month (July 2020) to follow up again. At this time I KNEW the courts were re-open or that

Review 1 of 4: On January 7th 2020, I was wrongfully terminated from my job. Within 24 hours, I had already begun to seek legal council to handle this matter on my behalf. A simple search query on Google lead me to a very convincing website for one BCS Legal Services. The site ranked highly on Google, it was a beautiful website, and after receiving a call back from (what seemed like) a very astute, very knowledgeable and convincing "lawyer" - Brian C. Smith; I was convinced, and wanted to move forward. Everything seemed legitimate. Within a day or so I began receiving correspondence that seemed very legitimate, and a follow up update call a couple of weeks later. He was quick to respond, spoke to me by phone for over an hour, and suggested that if I instructed him to engage in mediation with my employer, he'd be seeking somewhere in the neighbour of "6 figures" as my settlement. Of course as a recently fired person who had no source of income, I was thrilled to hear this news
