Darren is amazing. He has lots of experience and was very helpful even though the first time I went in was to accompany a friend. It is a very nice environment and the staff is really friendly. My hair was looking very dull after so many months dying it at home, and Darren did a great job correcting the colour. The prices are very good and I would definitely recommend this hair salon. :)

Mario is my stylist. He did a fabulous job in understanding what I meant when I said "I want big curls and wild hair, but something elegant". His mannerisms and professionalism was on point. I would recommend him to anyone.

I love the customer service from Calia - from the time I booked my appointment to the decaf cappuccino when I arrived, the service is excellent. My longtime stylist Mario just moved here (he is the BEST btw and I highly recommend him for "big hair" and curly hair and he'll serenade you while cutting your hair!). Calia and Mario are your best choice, especially if you want to recreate your look.

Just had my hair done at Calia on Davenport with Maria Luisa. Beautiful salon and wonderful people. Maria Luisa took her time selecting the right colour and products for my hair. The colour turned out perfect, and feels so silky and smooth. She made me feel very relaxed and pampered. Thanks Maria Luisa and I can't wait to go back!

My first experience at Calia in Yorkville was in April of this year. I bought a Groupon for a (much needed) haircut. I'm always apprehensive before making any kind of change with my hair, but as soon as I walked in to Calia, I felt a million times better. I was greeted by 2 of the friendliest faces I've ever met in a salon setting. My appointment was with Maria Luisa and we spoke at length about what I wanted, I showed her pictures, she gave her honest opinion (I was taking about 7 inches off - this was not a run of the mill trim). Darren (the manager) was also in the salon and gave his input as well. They were both so friendly, considerate and lovely to talk to. Two and half months later and I'm STILL receiving compliments on my cut and layers. Last week I decided to book another appointment with them for balayage highlights. I had my appointment with Darren on Wednesday evening of this week. He listened carefully to what I wanted. Again, I was apprehensive as I hadn't coloured my hair in a few years so I was a little modest when describing how blonde I wished to go. Darren did a wonderful job with my colour. It was very natural looking, however the next day I realized I had been looking for a bit more of a "kick" in the blonde than I received. Nervous, I called Darren and explained how I felt and wondered what I should do. He booked me an appointment for that afternoon, and before I knew it I was back in the chair and we were talking about what I actually had been looking for and how we were going to achieve it. He was so kind and understanding. He corrected my colour and I walked out of there feeling like a VS model with my amazing blonde blowout! I would 100% recommend this salon to anyone. The staff and service is exceptional and the prices are very reasonable, especially in Yorkville!
