A great team of very talented all female staff. Very contemporary, pleasant atmosphere

While I was visiting from Maine, I spent a long agonizing 4.5 hours in a salon chair at Fulham Salon with a very kind and sweet young woman. This was long awaited, much anticipated hair appointment to finally receive hair services on my enormously thick long head of hair that had at least 2 full years of pure untreated growth. I was adamant as I explained to the salon technician that I could not tolerate any sort of result that would leave me with even the slightest hint of reddish tones on my natural dirty blonde hair. I even explained this when I scheduled my appointment and then repeatedly stated it again and again throughout. I quickly became concerned as continuously ran out of bleaching product while she foiled countless sections of my hair in several different stages, each with newly mixed product. (I stopped counting at 6). This caused her to have to wash each section as it was processed. I already feared this process would result in inconsistent highlights and cause multiple sections to be under-processed but especially more so as she reached the very end of the entire process and proceeded to rush the very last section, the front mid section of course. This gave me even more serious worry as my biggest fear already was that it would be significantly under-processed (extremely ORANGE). But to rush the very front of my hair of all areas?! I felt somewhat releaved when she unexpectedly offered to treat my newly foiled hair to a toner. She explained this would ensure to rid my hair of any reddish, brassy tones so of course I practically jumped at the offer. Finally, after all was said and done I started to notice my drying hair appeared to have a reddish tone and I asked her about it. She convinced me it was the lighting in the salon but unfortunately that was not the case. I discovered this as I began to walk outside and viewed my hair in natural sunlight. A few minutes later after I sat on the sidewalk staring into a tiny compact mirror I returned in tears as I asked the receptionist if I could speak to the technician again. She came walking over and listened as I struggled to hold back tears as I described my disappointment. She didn't seem to agree even when I asked her to step outside to view it in the daylight. Then she very matter of fact suggested I make an appointment with a salon back home in Maine to have more hair services to remedy this situation. I was stunned! To make matters worse I discovered she left me with a hideous appearance as the middle section is light orange colored meanwhile either side has the most extreme bright white highlights. Again she was lovely but I would have appreciated an offer to have the salon cover the cost of remedying this. Is that too much to ask after spending hundreds of dollars on a five hour hair appointment? No, of course not.

Lena was friendly, direct and explained everything as she cut. Relaxing space and nice conversation. I’ll go back!

I have been coming to Fulham for 5+ years and I really love this salon. It has such a wonderful inviting positive vibe. The staff work together so well as a team. Katelyn is the best ever at color as well as cuts! Location is so convenient to Newton Center MBTA stop. There is parking available in the back and WiFi. Excellent experience as always!
