I called the salon and inquired about walk-ins (which they do accept). I spoke with Kelli/Kelly, the owner who was EXTREMELY kind. I asked about a dry cut (my hair had already been washed and flat ironed) and she was very accomodating. Upon arriving to the salon, Kelli greeted me and got to work. I am BEYOND pleased with my haircut. I went from right above bra strap length hair or so to a little bit of a long bob. Kelli actually LISTENED to how I wanted my hair. Also, the salon is very chic but trendy and clean. I will definitely be going back. Most of the other staff that I saw appeared to be friendly. They also have later hours than normal salons which I appreciate because of my work schedule. Oh, and I loved the chill vibe of the salon. Thanks again Kelli!!!

I’ve come to Gad Macias to get my hair cut and colored over the past year and I have not regret a single appointment. If you’re like me and have fried your hair trying to bleach it on your own in the past, but don’t want to give up avante garde hair colors, Gad is the perfect hairstylist. He is very communicative and skilled. I always request that my roots don’t get bleached to avoid pain and to have a better blend between the hair color and my natural hair as my hair grows out, which Gad was able to do without any problem. This past appointment, he was able to take my hair from a vivid intense blue to bright pinks and oranges while maintaining the quality of my hair. He won’t rush and damage your hair while removing color or applying bleach. He takes his time with each process to ensure that everything will come out perfect the first time. For the color I wanted, I brought in a color scheme of the pink, orange, and some blue that I wanted for my hair. Gad was skilled enough to translate it to an absolutely stunning hair style. He also gave me an awesome hair cut that shaped my hair and cleaned up my ends while still maintaining the length. If you’re looking for a new, stunning, alternative hairstyle, I highly recommend you contact Gad. He is always awesome to work with.

Lavielle is a great colorist. Great salon and amazing job. She did my hair beautifully and tells me how I should color or cut based on my facial features and skin tone. She is so talented. Love this salon!

Edit: To include details and reason behind the 1 star rating. I had scheduled an appointment and spoke with Kelli regarding said appointment. I’m local and I walked over from my apartment, noticed the sign on the elm street location and then walked over to the Main Street location. I arrived minutes after my scheduled appointment when I walked inside and asked for Kelli I was told she wasn’t in and to call her. When I did my call was forwarded. I walked home, posted the review and scheduled an appointment elsewhere before she attempted to contact me again. It is what it is, I must have just fallen through the cracks somewhere. Kelli did leave a message welcoming me to come back in however the initial experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I had already established an appointment with another Salon.

Kelli was able to highlight my natural hair with a color tailored to my skin tone without any bleach. My hair is still super silky without being overprocessed. She is also super sweet and willing to listen to the client. I highly recommend for any naturalistas looking for a fresh change!
