After reading the reviews about this salon, I was hesitant to give them a try, but I am thrilled that I did. I went into the salon and was greeted immediately, offered something to drink and my service was started right on time. I received the best highlights from Cynthia and outstanding customer service from the start to the end. I can say this was by far my best experience at any salon since I moved her to San Antonio 2 1/2 years ago.

Those who complain for waiting 15-20 min can go to Supercuts--I will wait whatever it takes to come out looking like I do! Celebrity stylists in this place!! And if celebrities (who come through the back door often), and Spurs players and their families trust them the way I do, there must be something FABULOUS. Don't take my word for it--try for yourself! I LOVE THEM!!!!

Excellent salon that is home to several hair color, cut and styling professionals. Decide on your stylist's expertise level and prepare to spend a moderate amount on fabulous service. I have spent comparable amounts at the mall for walk in services and 100% recommend investing in expert service at Alta Moda. Ask for Abby for great hair color and cut!

They are unsure how to do balayage. First they bleached and toned my hair, it turned out gray essentially (a little more "ashy" than they anticipated). I was unsatisfied and went back the next day to get it fixed (with high hopes). We had tried to retone my hair to see if the blonde/gold would take, and with no success. Because my "redo" took longer than necessary, I could tell Cindy (the owner and my hairdresser) was getting upset and did not want to rehighlight my hair and start from scratch. In turn, she neglected the balayage technique and you can see abrupt lines where the bleach was placed on my head. The gray was fixed, yes, but now it looks like I grew out 2 month old highlights, and got no balayage in return. In addition, Cindy didn't even acknowledge me once the touch up process was done. I didn't notice the lines in my hair until I got home for the second time (the lighting in there is terrible). Needless to say, I'm never going back and not recommending this place to anyone else. Save your $240 and go somewhere else.

The tall guy in the front is very rude. Expect better considering how much they charge. I will not be back. My hair was not dried completely and the service was weak. Get a new person up front. His bad attitude set the tone for the experience.
