Answer to Prayer

Living Science was the perfect compliment to my homeschooling journey. My boys began at LS as 4th & 7th graders and stayed through graduation. Here, we found a community of teachers, parents, students, and friends who shared a common desire to walk in the Lord. Their unique qualities were celebrated as they discovered their own God given gifts and talents, helping them to be shaped into Christ followers (which isn't always easy or comfortable) and to be lights in a difficult world. The leadership strive to mix compassion with pressure to help students thrive. Finding this program was an answer to prayer for our family allowing us the freedom to homeschool alongside a community for support (and to instruct all those subjects I did not feel qualified to teach!) As my boys got into high school, I found myself doing more and more parenting/supporting and less and less teaching academic content as that part was covered at LS and my boys were becoming independent in their studies.

Living Science is a great school. I have had a challenging education and have learned real life skills through the Servant Leader program. It has helped me to grow in my faith and has taught me leadership skills that are vital in all areas of life. I am extremely grateful that I have the opportunity to attend Living Science. It has been a true blessing to me and my family.

Living Science is an amazing school! I have made a ton of friends, and the teachers have challenged me and helped me grow. But, the teachers at Living Science aren't just focused on teaching material, they make sure that their students actually understand the material covered. There is a leadership program at Living Science called The Servant Leader Team. This is an amazing program. Through this program you are taught how to be a leader for Christ, while serving others. As a part of this team I have learned many practical skills that I will carry with me the rest of my life. But I have to say, the coolest part of Living a science is probably all the amazing trips and expeditions that we go on! I have been on Science Expeditions to St Simons Island and Jekyll Island, Senior Retreats to Orange Beach, and many places in between. We have seined, been to museums, and even got to see the Blue Angels perform on one trip! Pretty cool to call that school !!

The concept of Living Science is a good one, however C. S. Lewis embodies how I feel about our experience there: “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” -C.S. Lewis I initially thought the Servant Leader program sounded great but in reality the students are so micro managed that they are really becoming good followers, not good leaders. We have never been treated with less respect as parents as we were by the leaders Lance and Penney Davis. I still shudder when I think of this place.

I attended Living Science for a total of 6 years. I started attending my 8th grade year, and it was a game changer for how I learned. I will say, I cannot be biased and un-honest. I did have to implement outside schooling as well. I did an online faith based school called Monarch and Living Science for my 9th - 12th grade years. I ended up doing a second 12th grade year due to lack of credits and because I wanted to stay in the Servant Leader Program. Living Science, while their STEAM subjects is off the chains, I took English at Monarch due to my learning style being very different from the current teachers there. While the school is imperfect, as all schools are, I would not trade my 6 years for any other education. Having the unexpected loss of a parent two weeks before my freshman year, the students, staff, parents, and owners of the school flooded my with constant love, prayer, and encouragement. They worked with me through my anxiety and panic attacks. In no other school (especially in this day and age) can I walk into a class, pull an upper classman out, and ask for prayer because my panic attacks are so bad my vision is gone. They do not care so much about education, but more about your soul and heart. While there is a lot that could done better, the staff strive to do their best and pour their heart and soul into this school and it shows. This school is not for everyone, and there is better education out there, but when you combine the education Living Science gives along with the faith based soul concern, it is the only place to be. While there are ever present negative reviews, I see a similarity between all the not just negative reviews, but the disrespectful and malicious ones, they do not follow God. If you go to this school, and you do not believe in Christ or come to know him, you will walk away from this school hating him. Darkness hates light. And this school does their best every day, to try and be the light and love of Christ. This school goes beyond academic excellence, and is a rock amidst the crumbling education system and church. My hope is that if you are considering attending Living Science, you approach it with an open heart firstly, and then an open mind.

This school is God orchestrated. The D's and the rest of the staff continue to pour into each and every student. We have been at Living Science for over 5 years and my son continues to thrive in the Leadership Program. There are many opportunities for growth and encouragement. I can't say enough about the kindness, patience and individual care LS has given us. You all are truly serving God's kingdom.
