As girly as I may be, I learned that I can be girly but be one that can defend myself. Going on my annual mission trips, I realize the reason why children, girls, and women are being sexually abused and becoming victims of human trafficking is because they don't know how to defend themselves. Statistics says, 4 out 5 women have either been molested, raped, sexually abused or a victim at least once in their lifetime. Many women do not know how to react when they are being abused and just froze. Many women do fight back but not in an effective way. 3 years ago, I took Wing Chun for 2 class then gave up because I had no bigger purpose than to learn for fun. But now, even though I don't have much time, I have decide to take Wing Chun again. This time I have a purpose. That is for Mission trip 2019, I will show Wing Chun to the girls in the poor villages and my OBV girls. I want to show them how to protect and defend themselves. So they will never be vulnerable to despicable people who uses them as sex slaves. Su Phu Sonny Le is the most patient and detailed teacher I have meet by far. High recommended. Class price is very reasonable. You can pay monthly or by class. Wing Chun is like learning how to swim. You may think you don't need but better to know it then to drown

Joined the class for the first time. Been in karate for 7yrs, but this is awesome. Teacher sonny lee is a very humble and knowledgeable person. Very powerful with his teaching. He treated me very well and I felt welcome. I will be his humble student for a very long time.

I have been going to this school for already almost a year and a half and honestly, I definitely do not regret choosing this school. Sifu Le is an amazing teacher and not some sensei who has you doing 100 punching drills in a line. I am doing both weapons and wing chun, and for both classes, Sifu will take his time and stay with you until you understand and do the techniques properly and will explain all applications that come across with every move. Even though only a year passed, I already have lots of self defense skills at my arsenal and Sifu Le will help you understand every single move you do. Very good school, great students and very inviting, and a gaurantee that you will learn valuable self defense skills for protection. Definitely to anyone looking for self defense, this is a great school to consider. 5/5

This is a fantastic school and I consider myself very lucky that I found it. I have been taking both Wing Chun and weapons classes with Sifu Le for 2 years and have learned so much. Sifu Le is a very patient and experienced teacher who will help you learn Wing Chun no matter your age, size, or the shape you are in. He spends a lot of time with each individual student, teaching them the techniques as well as the reasons behind every move, not just standing at the front of the room while the class copies him. Sifu Le is also very friendly and welcoming as are all of the students studying under him. The more experienced students are always happy to help new students learn and figure things out and the atmosphere is one where everyone can feel comfortable and safe. There are a variety of classes available from long (2.5 hours) evening and weekend classes to short 1 hour classes, weapons classes as well as private sessions. Students spend time learning the forms and techniques, wooden dummy forms as well as touching hands and sparring wearing protective gear. This is not a gym and there are no push-ups or calisthenics involved but during sparring and touching hands it's very possible to get a good workout! If you are looking for a place where you learn real world, practical Wing Chun Kung Fu that you can use for self defense, this is absolutely the studio for you. You will not regret it.

I have known Sifu Le for over 8 years, and from the very beginning he taught for the sake of Martial Arts, not for profit. Often times he will restrict class sizes to ensure he can give everyone the proper amount of guidance and space. Sifu Le's teachings are definitely theory based, where he will show you the technique and the meaning behind them. The applications are taught shortly after. He definitely does not teach in the "repeat after me" style. Being his student on and off the past years, Sifu Le has taught me three Shaolin Kungfu forms, two Wing Chun forms (siu lim tao, and chum kiu). From weapons, he has taught me the staff, double sticks, nunchaku, broad sword, double broad swords, and three section staff forms. I highly recommend checking the North York Wing Chun school.
