They are scam. It happened with us. We went to check the place and forced ended up signing one year contract. In the beginning it was ok but after may be one or two months Mr. Taylor main instructor got transferred to another location and assigned some random students to instruct. When we asked for refund the person who handle forget her name advised that you can go to Longwood location. We live near dr. Phillips and she told us to drive 45 minutes for karate. This is ridiculous. Most horrible experienced in our life. I will never ever recommend this place to my friends and family.

Victory Martial Arts has been a great outlet for my son. We enrolled him to help him learn impulse control, and standing up for himself, as well as to be a leader and not a follower. The class sizes do fluctuate however I appreciate that because my son is making new friends, and also learning that your environment constantly changes but you still have control of your own actions. I've read through some of these reviews and I have to say a couple were pretty misleading. The director sits with you at your introductory period and reviews the class protocol, the schedule and the cost up front. We had a 2 week intro period with unlimited classes and we did not pay a penny. On day 14, once we took the time to try it out and make sure it worked for us first, we signed on for the one year commitment and it was explained clearly to us, no surprises. They don't spring anything on you. Ms. Hennessey was more than up front about everything to expect. My son has excelled in the tiger class. Mr. Mcaghee is so patient with the younger children, more patient than I can be sometimes. And when you see parents on the sidelines, we are not supposed to interfere. Our children need to learn to listen to Authority other than just Mom and Dad. A parent who over-corrects and tries to override the instructor is a parent setting their child up to not respect their teachers in school, and their employers at work, and the police officers on the street. Part of parenting is teaching our children to be teachable. Victory has taught me that. It's a struggle at times if my child is misbehaving. It's embarrassing and you want to step in because you know that's not how you raised them, but Mr. Mcaghee and Mr. Taylor MORE than have it under control, I assure you. They show patience, compassion, and sternness when needed. My son is learning the basics of Martial Arts at a very young age, but more importantly he is learning life skills that he can take with him as he grows. For those of you considering enrollment, I consider you to request the trial period. See if you can make it work with your schedule. They have several options to choose from! If I can make it work, I'm sure most parents can. Try a class for yourself as well! They encourage family involvement. If you have questions about the contract, as with ANY contract, ask them! You should never sign anything before you've read and understood it. I promise you there's nothing shady going on there. They are an excellent school and it's a fantastic way to help your child grow.

We moved from north and looking for place to keep teaching our children karate what they were learning down there so we visit Victory Martial Arts and found This place is scam all they are interested in to bind you with expensive contract ( $225/month for per child) you have to pay or face legal action....they do not have really qualify instructor. all are self made instructors. they do not understand how to deal with children. They think shouting can make child learn..They do not have vision..????????????

Master Taylor is one of the best I have worked with and he is able to lead kids and adults with an energy I have rarely seen. If you have troubled kids that need discipline I would highly recommend training in the martial arts. Wonderful place to develop skills beyond self defense. Krav Maga program is good for early belts.

This is going to be very detailed. I am a single mom and I don’t have much money. When I signed up my kid for VMA, I was really leery of getting myself into something I really couldn’t afford. Yes, the money is available under normal circumstances. In December 2017, my daughter brought home an invitation for a free class. Everything was kosher, my kid loved it, I love their principles and their way of teaching. So I signed on the dotted line. Come to February 2018 and life has thrown me a really crazy curve ball. I can’t really afford the monthly payment so I called and spoke to Ms. Hennessy about the situation and the contract. I read other reviews and complaints and was not hopeful for this situation. Ms. Hennessy was very understanding. She helped me out with putting my account on hold so I can pay lawyers for this issue I’m having in my personal life. Listen, I understand a contract. People are out here saying they want out of a legally binding contract they willingly signed. Before you go reviewing a business based on your misunderstanding of how legal contracts work, you should remember that the only way to get out of one is with a good lawyer. This business has been good to me and my daughter so I will definitely keep enjoying our time there.
