Love the Winning karate team and all they do for the children! My son loves it here!

Oct 5, 2017
My son attended summer camp at IKO Karate. When we came for the trial class it was great, Sensi Mike and Mr. T were welcoming. They introduced my son to all the kids. I talked with Sensi Mike in detail about canceling my contract if my son was not happy in the program. My son had always attended one daycare and I was worried if he didn't like it, I was not going to force him to go. I had talked to Sensi Mike about outside time, before I signed up. I explained to him that it was very important to me that my son was outside and active. He guaranteed me that even though they do not have a playground, they do have an area on the side of the building that they block off and the kids are able to play outside. This never happened. He spent all of his time inside. I was a little disturbed a few times when I picked my son up and he greeted me outside the door. Granted my son knows better the to leave with anyone else other than mom and dad, and he did see my car pull up. But the teacher did not see him walk outside. This was my first red flag. They instructors would be sitting behind their desk and on their phones. Their eyes should have been on the children not their cell phones. Right before the 4th of July break, they had a field trip to the Mascot Games. They told me that I needed to send my son with cash so he could eat there. When I picked my son up at 4:45, which is the time they returned. He was eating a slice of pizza from one of those $5.00 pizza places. Come to find out they did not feed the children or allow them to buy anything the entire time they were there. They had left in the morning. Then they took everyone $5.00 and purchased a few pizzas and gave everyone one slice. My son was starving when he got home!!! This is absolutely unacceptable for these children to go without eating the entire day. My son did not want to return, nor did I want him returning. I had told them in advance my son would not be coming the week of 4th of July since the camp would only be in session on Wed, Thurs, and Friday. Mr. T wrote my name on a piece of paper and told me that my account would not be charged. But my account was charged for the week anyway. When I called Mr. T, he told me I would just have a credit. I told him I did not want my account charged again that my son would not be returning. The following week my account was charged again. I tired time and time again to get in touch with them. The only person I ever got on the phone was Mr. T, he always told me I needed to speak to Sensi Mike. When I finally got in touch with Sensi Mike several weeks later, he acted confused and told me I had to speak to Mr. T. I told him it was unacceptable and I needed to speak to his boss. He told me his boss was unavailable. I asked if he had an email address for him. He told me his boss was Andres and gave me his email. I emailed him and received no response. I then disputed the charge with my bank since I had not authorized the payment. I was granted the funds back and now they are sending collection agency after me.

It's only been three days and I can already see a difference in my girl! Everyone is so super nice as well. Your gym came so highly recommended too! Thank you for all you do! I'm excited to see the future growth of our new IKO family.
