I don't train in Garimot, but they host a monthly open sparring event where all are welcome. The instructors are each formidable opponents in a variety of contexts and are practical about proving it—doing so with absolute transparency and the utmost respect for everyone who visits them. In addition to being good fighters and genuinely decent people, they are also conscientious and dedicated custodians of their art—which is a unique style that is noticeably different from most of the FMA to which I've been exposed (I understand it is from a different region of the Philippines compared to the styles most commonly seen in the states). It is clear they've put in an enormous amount of time and effort to hone their skills and equally obvious that they are happy to share their knowledge. I don't bother reviewing many things, but these folks absolutely deserve some recognition.

I joined Garimot about a year ago because it was a unique and well-rounded martial art which covers weapons training, hand to hand combat and grappling. The instructors are passionate about the art and make it easy to learn and understand. People there are like family. I train 3x per week and wish I could train more!
