Great coaching and great atmosphere! best place to train in the area

I was very happy to find this place. Tamdan, Steve, and Dylan are all very patient with beginners. I look forward to every class.

If you're looking for a legit place to train and learn the ways of martial arts, this is the place to be. Coach Tamdan McCrory is always keeping an eye out for his students and makes sure we learn it the right way. Classes are beginner friendly and in no time you will excel! Definitely recommend you to stop by and give it shot, you won't be disappointed!

I have been attending classes at Broome County Martial Arts Academy for a little over a year now. My only regret is that I didn't start my journey sooner. Any nervousness or apprehension I had was quickly put to rest during my first class. I realized that we were all there to learn and improve our skills. Everyone was more than willing to give you help. Some of the friendships I have made have extended beyond the school. If you are concerned with how much it costs or if there are year long contracts, don't be. Before I found BCMA, I visited about a dozen schools in the area. None of them compared to the value you get here. If you don't believe it, come down and try it out, Tamdan is always running a special for new people. Speaking of Tamdan, you will not find a better instructor in the area. He knows his stuff and he truly cares about his students in and outside of school. Besides, who would you rather learn from, somebody that learned jiu-jitsu or Muay Thai from reading a book or somebody that does it as a professional?

This is not a fight club, this is not a “gym”, this is an Academy. Know the difference. Not everyone joins a mixed martial arts gym to become a UFC warrior or to win the Abu Dhabi. Don’t get me wrong, if that’s your goal, the wall of medals and championship belts tells you that this academy will bring you to the highest level of competition that you want. But this place doesn’t push its own agenda like most do. The coaches just push you to improve yourself at whatever your goals are. Some are here to get in shape, some to learn self-defense, and yes some are there to compete, the important thing is that all are welcome and you know it the second you walk in the door. There is a very strong feeling of community and friendship among all of the students and coaches. The programs are legit and have great lineage. The head coach, Tamdan McCrory is humble, approachable, and has very high standards. He is hands on, constantly present, and ensures everyone has access to a clean, safe, environment for anyone to meet their personal goals. He does not allow egos here. Tamdan is constantly assessing and improving the schedule, the students, the coaches and himself, and believes in making people's lives better through education, training, and individual success. If you are in the Binghamton area, and looking for a legit academy, this is it.
