I"m changing my review because of my more recent experience I've had with Gracie Barra. First of all, I was unable to to attend a few classes because my work schedule was hectic. They continued to charge me for a several months until I went in person to request a freeze. They froze my account for a while, but then inexplicably reopened and charged it again without notifying me. I was told to write a letter to Samuel at Gracie Barra but I never received a refund. Because I wasn't expecting the withdrawal, this caused me to be overdrawn AND be charged late fees. At this point, I'm out 200$ just in extra withdrawals (not counting my earlier months that I didn't attend, which I take the blame for). After writing the letter, I was not charged further until today. Today I received a text from the "student accounts division" for "tuition fees" that they are now trying to deduct from my frozen account and also charging me late fees. I can't believe this is happening again.

This is a great place to learn jujitsu. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the instruction is clear. It is also a wonderful way to get a work out

Stopped by just to check it out while traveling through. I received a very warm welcome and had a great session! Felt just like home! I will make plans to train there any time I travel through Knoxville. Class act!!

This place has world class instruction. Samuel Braga is constantly learning the newest moves in order to prepare his students for competition. If you are serious about bjj, this is the only place to train in Knoxville.
