Each of my children started with Ernie Reyes when they were 4 years old and every since then (8 years later) it has been such a fantastic journey! For example, I have had Teachers and Coaches alike tell me how they can tell a difference in how both of my boys act/behave/focus in the class room and on the field as a result of their martial arts training. About 7 years ago I decided it would be 'fun' to do martial arts with my kiddos so I joined as well. Little did I expect it to COMPLETELY change my life - on multiple levels!!! I am now one of the black belts at the school and am so incredibly grateful for the the staff and fellow students that I lovingly call 'family'. It is said that "it takes a village" to raise children and I am truly thankful that this school is an integral part of my village!

My son has been training at Ernie Reyes West Coast World Martial Arts since 2010. I joined him in 2011 after I turned 40. We are both now second degree black belts in the system. This studio and system has some unique advantages over others. As part of a national association led by Martial Arts Hall of Fame member Ernie Reyes Sr., the curriculum is very practical, constantly evolving and improving, and quality of both technique and teaching is closely managed. This is true all the way from the Little Dragon (5-8 year old program) through to the Mastery (4th and higher degree black belt.) While color belt tests are held at the studio in Austin, Black Belt tests are in California with all the other schools creating an event and life changing experience for testers. Imagine testing with 300 other candidates and the spectacle involved. Members of the studio feel like a family. It is a supportive, engaged and caring group. Instructors are focused on teaching correctly but understand that each student is different and adapt approaches to stretch and grow the individual. Classes are a good, whole body workout - and due to the breadth of the curriculum, it's never the same and certainly not boring. Citizenship and life skills are also part of the requirements. This studio produces well rounded, confident students with practical self defense skills.

I love this school. There is a family feel to this place that makes the experience of being a part of this school even better. The instructors know what they are doing, and really seem to care about their students on a level that goes beyond any other school that I have looked at. The manager here is amazing as well, she's welcoming and more than helpful on every occasion. From little 4 year olds to adults of all ages, this place really knows what they are doing when it comes to training and teaching marital arts. I'm thankful every day that I decided to join this school.

Ernie Reyes is truly a family business where I and my sons have enjoyed martial arts and cardio kickboxing classes for years. The instructors are remarkable athletes as well as exceptional people. You won't find a better place to learn, grow, and start your journey to becoming a martial artist! I highly recommend them for any age and level of experience.

I cannot say enough about this school or it's curriculum. Well rounded teaching that constantly improves based on input from master instructors of all disciplines. Over the years of her training, I have seen a marked difference in my daughter's confidence and presence. As I started training with her, I could feel the bond not only with her, but with the entire studio family.
