I have been going here ever since I was a kid. Susan is the nicest and sweetest receptionist you will ever have. EVER! She is amazing, always so so kind, and very VERY good at her job (she deserves 5 stars forsure). And i'm not exaggerating one bit. She is amazing. I also had Dr. Jutras who was also amazing, and was always great to me as a child. However I have been switched by humber valley to Dr. Gautham.
I wanted to make it clear, Dr. Gautham has always been and extremely polite, nice, smart, and educated doctor. Everything was fine until I got invisiline by her.
For those who don't know, invisiline are clear braces for mild to low correction on teeth. My problem started with this. I Consider my teeth to have had mild teeth alignment, but the process was a long one because of problems. First I would like to say I wanted this done for multiple reasons. But I should have known WAY more information when considering this treatment. Dr. Gautham did not tell me she only had a year experience with inivisiline before giving me the treatment. Dr. Gautham also failed to tell me a lot of information about Invisiline. There was a lot of basic information she failed to explain. I had to research a lot of information myself after because I didn't know enough about the product. I can only ask so many questions when I know so little about the product. I get the impression now this was a bit of a money grab. One big thing she didn't explain is that I would require a retention wire behind my teeth afterword permanently (i didn't know much about braces coming into this because I never had them). She explained this MID WAY THROUGH! She didn't tell me that there would be sanding between my teeth during the process, that my bite would change, and that I would spend FIVE times longer flossing because of the retention wire. During the process in the beginning, my mouth was in so much pain and was BLEEDING from the plastic correcting trays and attachments on the teeth. For the WHOLE treatment, I had to spend my time on every tray smoothing the edges because they would make my mouth bleed if I didn't. Dr. Gautham did try and fix this problem (and offered to grind the edges down, but they were still a bit rough after fixing them), but she didn't have the proper equipment to smooth down the sharp edges on the plastic correcting trays. It surprised me that I had the proper tooling to smooth the edges, and not her. I even suggested proper tooling multiple times. It was way too sharp and unfinished for a 5 thousand dollar treatment! the've also noticed new ridges between my teeth from where Dr. Gautham sanded during the inivisiline correction. My floss and food occasionally gets stuck there and I have to spend time (using fine tweezers) to dig the floss (and food)out. This is mainly due to her poor sanding between my teeth which has caused ridges and discolouration.
The process took twice as long, but it was my choice the second round because I wasn't happy with the first correction treatment. And the second correction treatment was free which was nice. I would have gone for a third but didn't want to spend more time and money on this, and it I was fine with how my teeth looked. Overall, I'm 80% happy with how my teeth look, but I'm also a picky person. One of the main reasons why I wanted my teeth straightened is still visible, but this process was getting out of hand. On a positive note, they gave free whitening and Dr. Gautham did make herself easily available if there were problems. But in my opinion, if your going to charge someone 5 thousand dollars for a treatment, there shouldn't have been nearly this many problems, the customer should be MORE informed, and I SHOULDN'T be the one with the proper tooling to fix my problems. I contacted invisiline directly to complain and to suggest solutions to fixing these trays in the future. I should have also been much more informed of the process. I went back for a cleaning and asked her not to sand my teeth anymore, but she did anyways. I'm not going here again and will be changing dentists.
