If I could give it a zero star I would. Dr.Glazebnik is a crook and a fraud. He would shine on the CNBC program "American Greed".
I was referred to Dr.Glazebnik by my regular dentist Dr.Ayzenberg for crown lengthening evaluation. On June 8th, 2016 I came to see Dr. Glazebnik at 88 West End Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11235.
After the exam was completed he told me that the total cost for the surgery would be $1300.00 for 4 teeth. I asked if this procedure is covered under my dental plan, he replied that this is a cosmetic surgery and the insurance company wouldn't pay a dime. On the day of the surgery, July 18th, 2016, I was greeted by Dr.Glazebnik, but before I was allowed to proceed to the operatory room, he told me to pay up-front $1300.00 and quickly added a comment: "I did not forget the price I gave you". After the credit card payment was completed, he led me to the surgery room. Later he submits the insurance claim for the price-out-of-the-hat for an astronomical amount of $3600.00, collects the insurance check and pockets the money for far more than I paid ($1786.00).
His office failed to inform me about insurance payout. I learned from Aetna that the check was sent on 1/6/2017 and was cashed on January 18th, 2017. At that moment I went into the office to speak with Dr. Glazebnik. When I came in he acted like he never saw me before.
He demanded to see the proof of payment first. Luckily, his secretary Nikka came to the rescue, she pulled the credit card proof of payment from my chart. After a commotion he finally wrote a check for $1300.00.
In the meantime his newly hired office manager Bella came forward and pointed into the claim details statement of the "Total amount you can expect to pay out of pocket". I politely ignored her comment, then I challenged her intention by stating that insurance claim should've been filed for the $1300.00 on my behalf, so reimbursement check, if any, would be issued in my name. And the way they conduct business is highly inappropriate, unethical and an act of insurance fraud.
Then I became a witness of the doctor's bizarre behavior. He became agitated, loud and accusational. Totally unprofessional. That kind of behavior that I was warned about by Dr. Ayzenberg.
Then Dr. Glazebnik took the check off the table and said I will receive the check by mail. Apparently his ego was challenged and this way he is penalizing me for it. I never saw this check again (#2650). Later I received the check in the amount of $800.00. In the end he cheated me out of $500.00. By breaching his commitment, he had increased his pay by $1000.00. Way to go thief... Dr. Glazebnik you're a disgrace to Russian community.
His greed has no boundaries. It's a shame that in our Russian community
some doctors thrive by cheating their patients out of hard earned money. There are individuals that should never be allowed to practice medicine and dentistry. The Dr. Glazebnik is one of them. There many fine doctors, my advice , stay away from this office. But if you're looking for a rude awakening or "The bad taste of Russia" than you come to the right place.
