Virginia Family Dentistry Huguenot

I'm a new resident of Richmond and finding a new dentist was an important task for me. Choosing Virginia Family Dentistry on Huguenot Road has proven to be a great choice. The entire staff is professional and friendly. The visits are timely, comprehensive, relaxed and unhurried. I'm so happy to be a patient and highly recommend considering this practice if you are seeking dental care.

I am a truck driver and had made a delivery in Richmond early that morning. I needed immediate help with a tooth and not only did they work me in, but the entire staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Great place. I wish I could give 10 stars on this review. Great job and of you need dental work done, go here!

I have been dissatisfied as of late. I've gone to this practice for several years now, and over the course of time, I have noticed they keep "moving the goalposts" on me; one visit they tell me I need one thing, and then the next visit they say I need a lot more. Every time, they want more money than they did the time before. I feel like my doctor does not give me the full story about anything that she plans on doing or the implications thereof and treats me like an idiot who just needs to shut up and do what she says; while she's the expert and I'm not, I don't appreciate being treated that way. They've never botched any of my treatments or anything like that, but I no longer feel like I can trust that the practice has my best interests at heart.

Exceptional customer service. Employee are friendly and inviting. My hygienist KD, is thorough and entertaining. Dr. Crichton is intelligent, patient and down-to-earth. My family and I love the dental experience at every appt. Your family will too!

Just wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone that I came in contact with, from my initial phone call to checking out and everyone in between!!! I had a bit of an emergency, (I am one of those "petrified of dentist" people) but everyone at Virginia Family Dentistry was extremely pleasant and most helpful. They made the experience considerably less stressful than I have ever gone through in the past. One thing that impressed me most was that there was a TV in the room where, in the past at other offices, I would sit in that chair and panic - my mind going over every horror scene I can imagine involving the tools that would soon be used on me!! The TV was an extremely pleasant distraction for me!!! lol UPDATE: 07/18/17 and still feel exactly the same way I felt from the beginning regarding this great group of people!!! They truly treat like a friend, or family!! It's kinda crazy and NOTHING I have EVER experienced in my entire life!!! I wish more Doctor Offices' were . . .. no wait I take that back!!! I am GLAD they are the only ones that make me feel like they honestly know me and want to HELP me, as opposed to just doing their job and getting me out the door. I have NEVER in my life NOT been afraid to go to the dentist!!!! I actually look forward to seeing them all and discussing plans for my care!!! I have had A LOT of issues over the past year 1/2 and they have been right there with solutions and and helping me in any way that they can!!! I recommend them to EVERYONE - they have several Offices, so if you can't visit the one on Huguenot (sorry bout your luck) but I am sure the other offices are just as warm, inviting and caring!! I will not ever go anywhere else. I actually make appointments for my next visit before I even leave the office . . . now I will tell you that is some kind of turnaround for me!!!!! UPDATE 01/29/18: I just wanted to update you all again, as we all know, sometimes things change so it is so very important for me to let everyone know that is NOT the case for Virginia Family Dentistry!!! We were actually talking about why more people don't go to the Dentist and I quickly responded "because it hurts!!" lol BUT EVERYONE at Virginia Family Dentistry is just so amazing that they have actually made a "regular dentist appointment person" out of me!!! Now if you have read my reviews from the beginning, that is something that no other dentist has ever been able to do for me!!! I went from only going to the dentist when I absolutely HAD to, to going because I literally "want" to go now. I really can't say anything better than I already have, but if you give them just one opportunity - I promise you will not be disappointed and, in fact, you will actually be GLAD you did!! Dr. Hyder is the BEST & my special favorite Hygienist Joan is like Wonder Woman!!!! Since I gave Joan a super hero analogy, I'll say Dr. Hyder is like Bat Man. The Dark Knight that we all need to fight off all the nasty grime mobsters battling our teeth, and the courageous, caring and compassionate "friend" making sure you get the best care and that you understand everything by explaining so we understand and not talking to us like we are a doctor and just automatically understand all those medical terms. Plus, Bat Man is my favorite super hero - lol
