We contacted Paul for some very difficult driveway and parking lot applications to have him propose something that will eliminate problems with water runoff as well as a best cost solution. Paul not only proposed the best solution, but also offered the best price with all needs being met. We hired him for these two jobs and we have been very pleased with the results. We recommend Paul for any job. Tony Property Manager

Paul, the owner of Asphalt Works, talks a good game, but does not walk a good game. Scenario: on September 9, 2010, he took 50% down payment and promised the job would start on September 11. Nothing done, and no word that day. This started a tumultuous relationship where I had to hound Paul on almost a daily basis to do the job. It is now October 14, 2010 and the driveway is not done. In 4+ weeks, all that has been done is the old driveway has been ripped up and taken away, and gravel has been laid. Why isn't it done? Let me list the excuses he gave along the way as to why he did not show up on days he promised to finish the work: *sick mother in Florida (4 days of no communication) *two laborers did not show *bobcat in the shop *asphalt plant closed *ground too wet 3 days after the last rain *and the final one: "I'd give you an excuse if I had one, but I don't." Paul had already promised me a free sealcoat next summer, and $500 off the final bill as compensation for the delays. But, on October 13, 2010 -- the day he promised to be done or he'd owe me the full deposit back -- he never showed up and never contacted me. I had to call him multiple times and text him 3 times for him to just to admit that he was resigning the project. His prices are low for a reason I found out -- he's put me through 4 weeks of stress and then left me hanging. A torn up driveway for over a month! Claims he can't refund me the deposit money ($2,300) until Monday, October 18 when his accountant is present. I am prepared to go to court to get the deposit back because I've learned that Paul's promises mean nothing. At least I have his promises in writing -- I learned to take that step (along with photographing the unfinished driveway each day for the last 3 weeks) after he broke promise after promise after promise. Summary: DO NOT TRUST PAUL SERRETTE to do your driveway.
