I'm going to mirror another recent post. I'm in the process of switching banks, but definitely rethinking it. 1. This branch initially treated me like I had inconvenienced them by walking into the branch at 1pm. When they discovered that I'd signed up over the phone and just needed to verify ID, I was treated better, which is sad. 2. I was given conflicting info over the phone vs in-branch. (I know - it happens) 3. The initial debit card was "lost in the mail." Now it's just short of a month, and I still don't have a debit card. 4. Called in to query status of debit card - definitely spoken to like RBC uses the caste system, and I'm below them. Discovered that RBC had somehow switched my first and last names (really?!?!), and I need to visit the branch - again. Long story short, if I go with RBC, it will take at least SIX WEEKS before I even have a working debit card (their temp cards don't work at debit terminals - LOL)...And they wonder why I haven't started using their services yet. Except for the first phone call to setup the account, I've been treated like an inconvenience at each step - all involving their mistakes!! So far I've been polite...But I'm very close to restarting my research.

Staff were helpful at first, but after my request was denied due to lack of paperwork, they thought it was funny that I had not brought such an essential document. They were a bit rude after I had come back to the desk and after the Branch Manager was called forth (loud laughter could be heard from her office), she was impolite at best. After everything was sorted she just walked off without a word. I was glad to know that we were finished when she glanced back and said “you can leave now”. Pretty unprofessional in my opinion.
