I am so thankful to Shohreh for her excellent customer service. She always goes above and beyond with customers need and looks at customers as individuals rather than using a one -size- fits all approach.

I have been coming to Michael Hill in the Upper Canada Mall for over 4 years and wanted to acknowledge the incredible staff and management at this location. Making a large purchase can be overwhelming and nerve-wracking but the knowledgeable and professional sales staff, ensure you are guided through the buying process with attentive attention to detail. They listened to my questions and respected my budget. Though I didn’t make a purchase today. I will definitely be back to give my business to Micheal Hill in Newmarket. The store manager made a special trip to the repair centre to make sure I had my wife’s repaired wedding ring in time for our 4th anniversary this weekend. Thank you Adam! Sandra and Naz are true professionals and I would highly recommend you consider asking for them by name at this location, if you are looking for a engagement ring or wedding band!

Charging me $40 To fix a problem they caused

I have been taking walks through Michael Hill from they day they opened, I have bought many gifts there and have received a diamond watch. I had never had a negative experience there but nothing noteworthy either, until today. My daughter and I stopped in to browse and an associate name Patrick came to ask us if we needed anything. He was very personable and we had a great conversation about the history of Michael Hill, the different "brands" that MH himself designs and the musical note meanings behind the lines. It was actually fun and fascinating. There was no attempt to sell us anything. I told him I was really impressed with him and asked if there was someone I could contact to provide some positive feedback and this is when I learned he is the new Store Manager and that the staff had experienced an almost total turnover to a group of professional sales staff. I understand some people have had some issues with the product, I dont know any store in any industry that hasnt had flawed or failed product. When my daughters white gold ring purchased in store was turning colour they redipped in rhodium no charge twice, fixed the claws free of charge (even Tiffany's rings need the claws repaired regularly due to wear), and when my diamond watch was stolen they worked diligently to find and provide me with a copy of the receipt. If every business was shunned because of a small percentage of bad experiences, we wouldnt have anywhere left to shop. I am all for sharing the bad experiences to provide others information as to what to watch for and what questions they may want to ask, but dont allow others to make you shy away from anything based on their experience.

Felt like we were dealing with a used car salesman. Very pushy and unprofessional. They told us the sales tactics during the entire process. Here's what will happen. They will make an effort to get to know you on a personal level to build a relationship. Then they will focus on the girl pretty much exclusively and ignore the man. Then when she has picked something out they will focus on the man to talk price. It was so fake and see through they didn't care at all but just wanted to use their sales training to get it done. They totally lost me when we tried to describe what we wanted and then said, "Your description sucks!". Probably because they didn't have what we wanted lol. No effort to listen or accommodate our needs but to push us into something they had.
