I've been a regular and frequent customer at People’s for my daughter's jewellery. Despite receiving less than satisfactory service during every visit (half the time I’m ignored and am left to figure things out for myself until I flag an associate down when I am ready to make my purchase), I have continued to show them patience and loyalty as a customer. However, the service I received this most recent time was absolutely disgusting, and I refuse to let it slide. People’s does not care for customer loyalty or keeping their patrons happy. I returned to People's today after purchasing a pair of earrings less than a week ago that have left my toddler's ears BLEEDING and COMPLETELY SWOLLEN. It took me nearly 45 minutes to remove the earrings this morning because my daughter was in that much pain. Following the removal, I was dealing with an ear that would not stop bleeding and needed to be iced for 20 minutes. The response I got from Sandra, the manager at the ERIN MILLS TOWN CENTRE People's location was completely underwhelming. She simply said, "all we can do is return the earrings", before nonchalantly walking away and leaving me with a clueless store employee named Sima who ALSO did not offer a proper or caring apology to me and my child. Not until after I asked for their names did I get some "sympathy" for the fact my daughter's ears were that bad. WHY did I only receive a "We're so sorry!" AFTER I asked for your employees' names, People's? Is this how you train your staff to respond to a concerned and unsatisfied client who experienced a MEDICAL ISSUE from using your products? CLEARLY, your company does not care about giving your loyal customers the highest quality of service. So much for 14K gold. You have lost a customer, and I intend on sharing this story with everyone so they are aware of 1) the poor quality of your products, and 2) the disrespectful behaviour you allow your employees to show your customers.

This was my first time bringing my ring in for my cleaning/inspection and I took it the Erin Mills Towncentre location and the sales rep, Paula Riddle, gave me the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I went in and asked for my ring to be cleaned because I thought that is what I was supposed to ask for and she took it and dropped it in the cleaning box. When she returned it to me I asked if I can get a receipt to prove that I had my cleaning done. She went off and started to give me snarky attitude/lecture about how its called an "inspection" and told me to go back home and get my form that I needed to get signed. I had the form with me already so I gave it to her and she just took it and signed it without even actually inspecting my ring to see if any of my diamonds were loose (that's the whole point of an inspection). She kept rolling her eyes at me and gave me the impression that she didn't want to waste her time on the cleaning/inspection because I wasn't a paying customer. I called the store after I left to speak to a manger and I was told that no management was in. No one called me back for an apology either. I will never be going back here again, as soon as you spend thousands of dollars on a jewelry, they don't care about treating you like a valued customer because they have already taken your money. Please take your money elsewhere and give it to a place that will actually treat you with respect!
