Beautiful inventory, and it is one of the few places you can still have a real, trained goldsmith help you design a one of a kind piece of wearable art. My engagement ring was so beautiful that after I had that stone put into my wedding ring, (that I designed), I bought a second stone to have put into my original engagement ring. I get so many compliments on my wedding ring, I just love it!

I suppose creating magic with rubies, gold, and heirlooms is all in a day's work to master goldsmith Sid Stevens, but for me, receiving back my mother's ring restored to perfect beauty and enhanced integrity ... well, that recent day was very special. Mom got the deco-style ring at Konick's in Corvallis sometime in the 1950s, and it has been on my finger for decades. When the stone slipped out, Sid proposed adding two gold wires to brace the gap fore and aft. Settling glumly for security over the ring's original dashing good look, I surrendered the sundered pieces. A short time later Sid handed me the restored ring, and I was astonished to see how he had worked in braces -- frankly yet subtly -- as if they had always been part of the piece. My mother and I are so pleased ... Thank you, Sid, for applying your soul to your work. Laurie Mason, Corvallis

I want to preface this review by saying that, yes my ring is beautiful. Yes, they've repaired it twice at no cost to me. I'm grateful for that. But both times they've now made my ring, the first time and now after remaking the band this time, they have not listened to what I want, as the customer. In fact, they've strictly gone against what I want simply because they do not agree with it. Back in 2014, I went into Sids to have them make me a ring. I showed him what I wanted. I was very clear. He made me my ring but he used four prongs per each diamond. This reduced the sparkle and made the ring more metal looking than I wanted. I tried to argue. When Sid told me that it's not safe that way, I told him I had insurance and I didn't care. He refused to change it. I even had employees try and change his mind. I'm the customer. I am the PAYING customer, my ring should be what I wanted. Sid refused to remake it. He told me he would charge me if he remade it HOW I WANTED, in the first place. So I gave up. Fast forward to February of this year. My ring spontaneously breaks for the second time. I have my husband drop it off at Sids. They never once called me. They never once talked to me about their plans with the repair. I was in the middle of going back to work and helping a friend through a traumatic loss. I was patient and figured they would call me. They never did. Finally, I called them and they told me the ring was ready. Sid also told me they remade it. I asked him if he remade it with shared prongs like I wanted and he chuckled and said no. I'm beyond furious. He KNOWS. He knows I want shared prongs. I'm convinced they did not call me (they did before with the first repair) because they knew they had to remake the band and they knew I'd want shared prongs. This is an outrageous and inappropriate way to do business. Additionally, I purchased diamonds from Sid because when I did finally have the money to remake the ring, I wanted to put in bigger diamonds. He knew I had the diamonds. He knew what I wanted. Wouldn't one expect a phone call? This was intentional and I've since found out he's gone against customers wishes based on his own opinions before. This isn't ok. This isn't what I as the paying customer wanted. I'll gladly take this review down should my problem be resolved (my ring remade, the way I want and have said I wanted for years) but I highly doubt it will. I'll probably have to take my business elsewhere to a place where they listen to the customers and give them a product they want.

I consider a jeweler like my doctor or accountant . . . I know very little about gems and mountings so I want someone I know I can trust. Sid and Susan are those folks. Even though I live in another city, I make the drive to Albany to have Sid make my pieces and to ask his advice. They are as honest as they come and dependable. We have had multiple pieces designed and handcrafted in their shop and they have always exceeded our expectations. Never a disappointment! Duane and Maggie Byerley

Sid Stevens is by far the best jeweler around! My fiancé (boyfriend at the time) and I showed up to look at their rings. They were absolutely stunning! We asked about custom rings and Sid himself talked with us and told us all about Antwerp, Belgium and how they go every single year to hand pick diamonds for their customers orders. We found a ring style we liked, figured out exactly what we wanted, then talked it over with Sid. We paid for the diamonds and he came back from Antwerp two weeks later. What a WONDERFUL choice! The diamonds were the best cuts and clarity I had ever seen, and they were all mine! We also received certificates of authenticity for each diamond. Within a short time, he hand built my ring. My boyfriend proposed and I was BLOWN AWAY! It was absolutely stunning. It sparkles even in the dark. I have already had more than THIRTY people, strangers even, comment on how sparkly my ring is. With most Jewelers (corporate ones such as: Fred Meyers, Harry Ritchie's) they will often show you a gorgeous ring and order it. When it's ordered, it's not the same ring quality AT ALL. You don't know exactly where the diamonds came from, or how well it was assembled. I have witnessed this several times with my girlfriends and it was terrible! The diamonds were muddy, asymmetrical, and always falling out. Very few jewelers hand pick, hand craft, hand care, and personally see to every detail that you need and want. With Sids, I knew exactly where the diamonds came from, and I have personally witnessed the care and concentration that goes into the relationship of every person who walks through those doors! HUGE bonus: Lifetime warranty, comes with the ring. Absolutely an incredible thing! If any diamonds fall out, they are replaced at no cost, as long as they've seen you about once a month to clean the ring and have it inspected for loose stones. I really appreciated this experience. I am so glad we didn't go anywhere else. I love knowing that for the rest of my life, I can walk In, have my ring cleaned in five or less minutes, and knowing I'm being taken care of. The staff is incredibly friendly and you'll often see his beautiful wife helping with anything you need! They run an honest, and rare business of true dedication, care, and quality.
