I want to start by saying that I've been purchasing jewelry with this location since I moved to Houston about 4 years ago. I recommend all my family & friends as well. My first ever online purchase with Zales is starting to become a bit of a nightmare to say the least. I ordered 2 rings (bands included) in store but it was an online purchase. Once I got my ring I went to this location (Willowbrook) & purchased a warranty/protection plan. It was about 2 years ago so I don't remember the exact name for it. The saleswoman (I don't remember her name either) told me that what I was paying for included polishing, shining, cleaning, repairs and diamond replacement. I was advised that because I needed to size the ring that there was a possibility that a diamond/diamonds might fall out. The ring didn't come in my size so I had to get it sized. Sure enough a diamond fell out. I've worn it regardless mainly due to my work schedule (I work a full time job). I finally manage to bring my ring in. I wasn't greeted first off. There were only 2 employees. 1 was working with a couple and 1 was sitting behind the counter typing on what looked like an iPad or tablet. After being greeted by the security guard, she finally looks up and asks how she can assist. I told her that about 2 years ago I purchased my ring and the plan so I needed to see about getting it cleaned & the diamond replaced. To make a long story short, she informed me that she saw my purchase in the system but not where I purchased any type of plan. Mind you, it was 2 years ago. I've moved since then. Yes I should have been more mindful of where I placed my receipt but I didn't think that I would need it. Because I watched the employee take my $200 something dollars & type everything into their system back when I bought the plan. Fast forward to present. My ring has been with them for 2 weeks & 1 day to be exact. I've called a total of 3 times. Because I wasn't being updated. It's not that I was in a rush, because I understand that things take time. It's my engagement ring so with me wearing it everyday I missed it. The first time I was told that a quote hadn't been provided yet. Fine. The second time I spoke with a lady named Trisha, Tricia, I don't remember exactly. But she told me that they hadn't heard from the company that they work with but that she would call them & then give me a call by the end of the day. Needless to say, I never heard from anyone. I call today & Rhonda tells me that she does see a quote (why nobody let me know about the quote, I don't know) & it's $98 before tax to replace a diamond. I wish I could post a picture of my ring. The diamond is small. The representative said so herself. Just by looking at my ring the night that I brought it in she said that it should be around $60. I've been quoted less than $98 but I wanted to go through Zales because that's where I got the ring from. I'm not going to suggest not to buy from here, because they do have beautiful pieces. I would just suggest that you keep every single receipt. For everything. Document who you speak with & when. Just be mindful of every up-charge. Good luck!
