What a great golf course!! You just don't get the full appreciation of the course from watching tournaments on TV. This course was on my bucket list but was not on the agenda for this trip. I went to take some pics and they were able to get me a tee time. There are moments on the course you just stop and take in your surroundings. The guys in the pro shop were more than helpful. Sal in the snack shop at the ninth green had to be the highlight of the trip. He helped tremendously with my game!! The ladies in the shop next to the pro shop were very friendly and helpful. I recommend every person should visit this place whether you are a golfer or not. One of the best places I have had the opportunity to visit in the US!!!!

Pebble Beach Golf Links rated 5-1/2 stars: Perhaps only the Old Course St Andrews and Augusta National command the acclaim and adoration that is heaped on the Pebble Beach Golf Links. With its fabulous layout, constant challenges and spectacular views onto three separate coves Pebble Beach is quite simply the best course in the world, in the opinion of many golfers.

Played there Friday April 13th. It was as amazing as you could have ever imagined. Really breathtaking. I was not sure about forking over the steep price tag to play in all honesty. But when I thought about how my dumb butt would go to Vegas ready to spend so much more... it was easily a no brainer. First 2 holes are nice but nothing to write home about. Then God happens and you get blasted by euphoria the rest of the way. Get ready to say "oh my god" and "can you believe this" because you will. Soak it in. Enjoy yourself. Take photos. Everyone else is. You are playing on hollowed grounds, for the love of God, fix your divots and rake your bunkers. As should be expected at your local muni but at this place, its surprising to see even 1 bunker not raked by a player, much less a few. Non golfers with tons of money play it just to say they played it and don't know golf etiquette. I didn't use the caddie program and to be honest, don't really think you need it. Its nice but there were 2 in my group helping other guys and although they were nice, I don't think it would have been worth the $ unless you get a really solid one. I will play it again! BTW... played poor man's pebble on Sunday (Pacific Groves) and it was a blast as well! Hard to not play nice golf courses in that beautiful area of the country.

I played Pebble and I have to say, I was bitterly disappointed. The pace of play was abysmally slow and tedious taking 3 hrs to complete the front nine. With daylight diminishing, the group in front were chopping away, oblivious to time and consideration for other groups following, wasting precious minutes, leaving us irately thinking, "Really? All this mind numbing waiting before every single shot for $495?!" There was no mention of a temporary green on number 13 either and I thought it was a little rude to keep that one silent or not make paying customers aware of this at least at the pro shop beforehand. The vast expense they charge to play, should encompass an experience like no other rather than churning out a conveyer belt of as many punters as possible at a ludicrously high price. It should mean an efficient co ordination of on course marshalling (which is frankly non existent as they potter about in golf carts) and ushering players along to keep a steady rhythm going. Surely there has to be some degree of encouragement about moving groups around the course at a steady pace? This is acknowledged by golf's main governing bodies, including the USGA who issue penalties to tour pros who don't adhere to the rules. I know it would create more enjoyment and ironically, an improved standard of play but amateurs emulate what they see on TV of course, before inevitably missing that 3ft putt. As for the caddies we witnessed, most are utterly clueless and have a complete lack of common sense about the game without a care for seemingly basic etiquette, before being compensated a decent sum of cash post round. I actually felt sorry for the guys in front of us at Spanish Bay who had hired this scruffy looking kid for the day. I understand that charging extra for golf carts too is good business but honestly, restricting them to cart path only is painful to watch as patrons have to walk to and from their ball at snail-like speeds, occasionally not taking the correct club. It does keep the fairways in pristine condition though which I did appreciate. I played Spanish Bay and Spyglass too which of course are nice, but suffer that same dysfunctional movement of groups around the holes. I hope you are able to resolve the issues mentioned courteously and provide a better understanding of the way the golf is run by management.

Beautiful ocean holes, inland holes and course conditions detract, as does the insane price. Worth half what they charge but go get it off the bucket list if you're able.
