I've been to the Palm Room MANY times over the years - always had a good evening of cocktails and music. Rarely eat there, so I can't say much about the food, but I've always had good wait staff and pleasant music. The room is historic and should be appreciated as such. Amazing to think the goofy city of Winnipeg thought about razing this site years ago. Cooler heads found a new owner and did the right thing. Best to keep politicians and bureaucrats out of the room and let the real people enjoy it.

This place is great for some live music and an enjoyable cocktail in an historical setting. Normally this is my go-to. Sometimes it gets very busy and loud but always excellent service. You can park or there is valet service. Enjoy.

Took our niece and nephew here for cocktail and app last nite. They loved it and was so elegant. In the iconic Fort Garry hotel. Also have music in the eve as well. Tbt the 1950s it seems.

Went with my girlfriend and were treated like we were not even welcome in the restaurant. There were about eight other customers in the lounge and the server seemed to deliberately walk around our table to attend to every other table but ours. Every table that walked in was given a menu and bread when they arrived. We ordered drinks, waited 15 minutes for them. We ordered an appetizer, shrimp dumplings. Those took at least 25 minutes when only two of the other tables were eating food. Received our bread AFTER finishing our appetizer and being ignored repeatedly when trying to get the server's attention. Not once were we asked how the food was throughout the entire meal (which blew me away having worked in the hospitality industry before) while I saw every other table be checked on periodically and asked if everything was satisfactory. Our server was at our table a total of three times through the entire meal: the drink order, the appetizer order and main course order. They treated us like garbage and acted as if they wanted us to get out the entire time when we were nothing but polite and kind to their staff given our lack of service. Me and my girlfriend are both in our mid 20's and she is black. I don't know which was the reason why we were condescended upon and talked down to but they made it very clear they did not even want to serve us. People and places like this make me sick, I can confidently say I will never be back to this lounge.

I went there for the first time. Waiter had an aura like he was straining to be polite. They had a lounge singer duo who were amplified WAY too loud and shrill, finding it hard to speak to my friend over it. A lounge singer should be calming background music, not yelling in your ear. I've been to dance niteclubs where I've found it easier to converse over the music. Food was OK, but the service, and LOUD lounge singers did not make this a pleasurable experience. Won't be back.
