My parents used to take me to Swiss Chalet all the time as a kid. I loved this place. We had a habit of going on birthdays. I hadn't been in a long time, but me and some of my friends went recently. It's pretty well like I remember it. Keep in mind that this is a chain. And that you can get almost the same experience at any Swiss Chalet. The food is usually pretty good. (The best part is their sauce.) The atmosphere is nice and clean enough. And the price is cheaper than most restaurants. The nice thing about this location in particular is that there is lots of parking. The whole building is surrounded by it.

This review goes for all 4 Hamilton locations, as I find them all to have good service and the same quality of food. The chicken can be hot or miss, sometimes it's extremely dry and others almost not cooked correctly. Not the greatest fries. Buns are superb but the wheat and white. Excellent ceasar Salad and garlic loaf. The absolute best coconut cream pie anywhere, delicious! Good place for family outings

Sorry to say, last night's dining experience at the East Hamilton Swiss Chalet was very disappointing. I had actually called earlier in the day and asked if I could reserve a table, as we were out to celebrate my girlfriends mothers birthday, but was informed by the gent that answered the phone there should be no problem with seating, as Tuesdays were usually a slower night. We arrived promptly shortly after 6pm, were seated quickly, and placed our orders. A larger party of 6 arrived after us, and received their orders before us... when we questioned the delay, we were told that it was because the 'pasta (pesto) dish one of our party had ordered took more time because of the pasta' ... so, we then expected steaming hot food... only to be disappointed.... the pasta dish was cool, the ribs ordered by the birthday girl were not hot enough, my lady's order was 'ok' by her words, my own order of '1/4 chicken dinner white meat with a garden salad' came out as a very inconsequential, barely identifiable part of a chicken, with a green salad, no dressing, and no fries. Needless to say, all in our party were displeased, and, sadly, what was to be a celebratory birthday dinner, turned into a disappointing occasion. Due to time constraints and a medical appointment for the birthday girl, there wasn't time to complain, send stuff back, or deal with it on the spot... even desserts had to be packed up to go.

Adequate parking, and satisfactory service. Nothing outstanding, just a decent, competitively priced meal. Family friendly. On the negative side, the kitchen staff are beyond noisy, with the lead cook, or hand often bellowing out the words, which are easily heard, including the profanity. Buddy, take a downer, noone has come to hear you preach, and it's offensive. Dining on left side of restaurant will keep you from having to listen to that, as it's further from kitchen. Recommended.

I placed an order over the phone for call ahead pick up. I found out when I arrived that the agent on the phone put my order through and then cancelled it. The supervisor working at the time was really great about getting my order made quick and apologized for the inconvenience. Threw in a little extra. She went above and beyond in her customer service and I commend her for that. Was greatly appreciated and was out the door in five minutes. I saw all the staff working very hard to get the orders out quick. She made a not so great experience great again. Highly recommended. The food was delicious.
