We went for the all you can eat dinner and it was amazing. The food was excellent and I love ordering with a tablet. Just click what you want and it's brought to you a few minutes later. Would have given five stars but my family and another group were left standing at the door for at least 10 minutes without anyone greeting us or even looking our way. Not very welcoming.

Very good food. Fast service. Amazing atmosphere. We really enjoyed the experience. Not the best sushi in Durham and a little pricey. But worth it.

My fellow employees and I decided that the Whitby location was the most ideal and it didn’t seem like an issue as many of us have tried the food at a different Makimono location. We called in advance to reserve for 15 people and they insisted we paid an additional 15% service fee on top of there overpriced dinner cost since we were considered a “party”. When we arrived there was not enough room for all of us to sit which we proceeded to grab extra seats. Two of the employees looked disturbed and watched us struggle where they didn’t offer to help. We were only offered 2 iPads for us to order not to mention the food took roughly 20 minutes to arrive. As we proceeded the celebration for our managers final few weeks before taking her maternity leave many of our orders were ignored and the few plates that actually arrived took very long. One of our employees ordered one item off the regular menu that was a mix of rolls on the all you can eat menu, he decided to switch to all you can eat as the food was quite pleasing. After eating more the employee rudely came up to notify him that he was still going to get charged 13.50 on top of the all you can eat charge and was given no say. Her exact words were “well who’s going to pay for that”. As we were in the middle of eating the same rude employee came and interrupted with the bill which was extremely disrespectful. The manager of our staff realized that one of our staff members was being charged with the previous plate he ordered on top of the so-called “all you can eat” and felt it was only right to stick up for him. The same two employees that were staring at us when we first arrived began badgering our manager and were refusing to grab the manager to compensate for the extra charge on the bill. The manager came after 30 minutes of arguing with the employees and began interrupting our manager and after listening to what happened all he said was “sorry” with a rude smile on his face the entire conversation. Service at this location was absolutely terrible and was not worth the $38.98 and they did not deserve a penny of the 15% “service” fee that was mandatory.

I love coming here for sushi. The service is good and the selection of menu items is great. This place is great for date night or friends night out. I enjoy the all-you-can-eat option. Totally worth the price.

loved the food. servers could smile a bit more. Been back twice or even three times and the servers are much friendlier now and the food never disappoints.
