Have you ever had a specific moment in your life that you never wanted to end? Welcome to Quince. The dining experience was unforgettable with service that was top-notch in a gorgeous setting with food that was made from God's hands. The staff knew what they were doing and explained every bite with exquisite detail. The words at which were spoken were just as elegant as the taste on my palette. Upon entering you're no longer in San Francisco. Somehow you've been transported into a lifestyle change. The perfectly lit rooms wreak of old-world charm filled with people from all walks of life. The bartender’s drinks are perfectly hand-crafted as if pulled from a magazine, and the food set before you is simply breathtaking. This dining experience is what life is all about and well worth the price paid at the end. Hefty, but every bite brought me to my knees.

I had the opportunity to dine at Quince this week, and my review is mixed. The atmosphere and service were phenomenal, and our group had a wonderful time there. That said, I have had some of the best meals of my life in places with zero atmosphere and service. For me, it's all about the food, so here's my analysis of the food at Quince. It all tasted wonderful and was cooked perfectly, but it over relied on two components that blunted the full force of the dishes, namely truffles and butter. Nearly every dish in our set course had truffles on it and was drowning in butter, which ended up dulling the cooking rather than allowing it to shine. I wish the chefs, who are obviously quite capable, were more committed to clean, honest flavors, especially with their earthy Italian cooking. That got me thinking about why the need for obvious decadence in every dish, and I can only guess that they're catering to the current, moneyed SF crowd. Make of it what you will.

Excellent food, excellent service. Great experience all round. Be prepared to pay but value for money.

Great food. But Not our scene. Formal and multi course. Lovely servers just to much constant attention. Expensive, very expensive but that should not come as a surprise

The overall execution and presentation are great, but we missed the wow factor that you would expect from a three star Michelin restaurant. The plates didn't have anything particularly unique that would make you want to come back to this particular restaurant. Atelier Crenn has it beat.
