This place is the best. Perfect atmosphere, great food, friendly service. My favorite restaurant in Berkeley by far, one of my favorites anywhere in the world. We love to have all our special family dinners here.

The food was amazing, the service was great, and the decor is a beautiful mixture of modern and classic minimalism. Definitely would go back for a nice occasion.

Having visited Italy many times I have had great Italian food in the past. So far I have found that you can't get the same quality Italian food in the US. Agrodolce has better than average Italian food but it is still not the same. I really loved the quiet, romantic atmosphere but was disappointed by the service. The waiter forgot our starter and the wine we ordered. After we reminded them of the missing items we didn't even get an apology. Because of the atmosphere and the good food I would still recommend the place.

If you have ever been to Italy or to a proper Italian restaurant in any European country - just ignore this place for the food. We have ordered 4 dishes: Aranchini, Frito Misto, Carpaccio and Linguine with Vongole. All of them, maybe except for Frito Misto was awful and cooked in a wrong an inappropriate way. Let's start with Arancini: rice was overcooked and there was more rice than the filling - untasty. Frito Misto - ok-ish, but full of garlic that dominates the flavor. Carpaccio... omg. No olive oil at all, two (2!) small slices of parmiggiano and tons of onion that again dominates the flavor and not helps the main taste of dish. Finally.... pasta a-la Vongole... Vongole itself - surprisingly good, but pasta was overcooked by at least 3 minutes, not al dente at all, and full of oil. Verdict: just ignore this place.

I've been here for a birthday dinner. Even though it was a Saturday night and they were slammed the service was attentive, good wine, great bread, and dipping sauce. I like the dipping sauce so much we asked for more bread and sauce and they beamed with pride and brought it out quickly and cheerfully. The first course, pastas were excellent, tender and the fillings flavorful. The cream sauce was a standout. I had a main course of pork in cream sauce with herbs. Yeah I know, you're not supposed to have two cream sauces but I did it anyway. It was our first time there and I'm sure we will return many many times
