Also shared on yelp - This place has a nice ambiance and cute decor but overall it is impractical and overpriced for underwhelming food options. I showed up around 2:45 on a Saturday with three of my girlfriends. We were initially told there would be a 30-40 min wait to sit in the cafe area but then we ended up being sat right away and we were told to order quickly because the kitchen was closing. We ordered the citrus salad (for $16) and the amount that came out was honestly pathetic. It was a thin layer of oranges, avocado and a few pieces of “lettuce” with some pretty flowers sprinkled on top. When we asked for a side of lettuce to go with the plate of pretty much just avocado slices we were charged an additional $6 for a 1/2 shed salad. Absurdly overpriced. Plus, the way that the counters serve food is confusing. We got a couple 1/2 pints of vegetables and fried chicken from the meat counter and then some bread and some coffee - all at separate stations. It was weird because each station asks you to pay separately but then also said I didn’t have to pay until we got to the table. I didn’t want to have to make so many decisions about when to pay. Not a fan & definitely won’t be recommending this place to anyone!

After hearing good things we dropped in while in Healdsburg picking up a wine club shipment on a Saturday. Hostesses was dismissive after we waited a while for her phone call to end. Guess we should have known the hours for their different service options. So we tried the fermentation bar to get some nourishment. Being new we asked for some guidance only to get another indifferent interaction. Directed to one of the checkout location only to be helped by another person who seemed they would rather be doing something else. To be charitable maybe staff was at end of shift on barrel tasting weekend?! The couple food items we got to go were pretty good but seemed pricey for deli counter to eat outside. We walked over to Bravos wondering what that was all about.

We were just there and had heard great things. First, the space, store, larder are visually beautiful with wonderful items and products- but overpriced. As far as eating, we put our name in for the cafe and we’re told 35 minutes. After 59 minutes the host was rather dismissive and said it was just an approximation...hmmm. It is Sunday and people come to eat. Finally when seated after 65 minutes, we get a waitress who walks up quickly and tells us they are out of FOUR of the breakfast items. FOUR. And one of them waffles. How do you run out of waffles??? All we all wanted was their egg dishes and they “were out”... not very good planning for a busy popular restaurant on a Sunday. Think they need to get a handle on restaurant focus. Or just have a market- one or the other.

Two sides to this review: the restaurant and the shop. First, both are amazing. The shop has all manner of interesting product, well sourced and well curated. Wine, bread, you name it. You'll find many of the same items served in the restaurant, but the presentation is what makes the difference. Each dish is a work of art. Menu changes often too.

Excellent stop for fresh local food. Lots of options - we've only tried the takeout part and not the restaurant. Everything was top quality. One unexpected find was Halva (middle eastern sesame+sugar desert) which I've got to say was better than the ones I had in many other places. Not cheap, and did get pretty busy, but is totally worth it.
