I have conflicting views about this restaurant. The food was pretty good - I will definitely give them that. However, the woman who was working the front of the restaurant did come off like she had an attitude. When I asked for some napkins, she gave me just one, and looked at me like I had two heads when I asked for more. (Oxtails can be messy, especially since I was offered no plastic knife.) When I asked for a plastic bag so that I can bring my leftover food to my car, she preceded to sigh and regretfully hand me a plastic bag. I don't know if she was just having a bad day or if this is her general demeanor, but it's uncomfortable to feel as if napkins and a plastic bag is a complete inconvenience. Additionally, the prices were pretty high. However, I can tolerate the prices more than I can the attitude.

So I stop by today and they are closed down. With a huge orange health dept sticker on the front door. Their food tasted good but guess they weren’t clean enough to stay open. Sucks this was pretty much the only place in the valley to get this type of food.

The food is amazing, but they have horrible customer service. If you want anything other than jerk chicken, good luck. They never have anything else on the menu. They're either too lazy to cook it or they run out of food. This happened numerous times. So, if you just want jerk chicken then this is the spot. Don't ask for any extra veggies though because you won't get them. If the jerk chicken wasn't so good, I'd never come back to this place.

I love jamacain food and the place has potential, however no matter what time of day I visit the place, they never seen to have what I'm looking for, or not enough of it. I hope they can figure it out. Good luck island hut!!
