Hank's, now in three locations in Washington, is a reliable place for great seafood and just a touch of atmosphere. I always go to the Hank's on Q Street a few blocks east from Dupont Circle. It's a tight fit when it is crowded, but always fun. I have been going there for years. On my most recent visit I started with Oysters on the half shell and then moved to what is probably the best Scallop dish I have ever had. Paired with wine, of course. Service was attentive, and the atmosphere conducive to conversation.

I come here for 3 reasons. First, it is a good spot to catch up with friends at the bar. Second, the late night oyster happy hour. Third, John is the best bartender ever. His drinks are top notch and more importantly he has become my friend. Great guy, great cocktails, and great conversations.

The meal and experience at Hank's Oyster Bar was one that I will not return for. At my table two of us ordered drinks from the menu and though both tasted well, they were mostly filled with ice and for that they were over priced ( a theme here) The server was good and the seafood was that was ordered, tuna tartar, raw clams were tasty and well prepared. I ordered the sea scallop dinner for $32, it came with a root vegetable puree etc. The scallops were great but I HAD ONLY 4. I was literally done with my plate in 5 minutes. It was more like an appetizer than a main course. $32 FOR 4 SCALLOPS, REALLY, OVERPRICED AND UNDERPERFORMING.

Love sitting outside on their patio. From the other Coast and always love visiting when I am in DC. Mussels were super fresh and the broth was light and fresh. They have brunch, lunch and dinner and the menu is well thought out with many delicious options. Service is always great and food is always on point!

Went here for a birthday dinner. The yacht room was reserved for our large party and the manager was very hospitable. Service was good and very helpful, the oysters and lobster roll was yummy but the drinks could be a little better. I would come back to try the crab cake and the mac & cheese. and off course get more oysters.
