What a great restaurant! The service was impeccable, our server was friendly and helpful. But the best part was this -- the sushi was the best I have had in the USA, and the uni was the best I ever had, period. I will definitely visit again next time I'm in town. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Japanese nigiri.

Exceptional. Everything I had to eat was incredibly good. The tempura was fantastic, the best batter I've had. Of course all the fish was totally amazing. The fatty tuna roll is a steal at their price. And save room for dessert, the various green tea and red bean based options all sounded amazing. Service was great, and the restaurant is a rare gem in terms of noise - enough that it doesn't feel stuffy, but quiet enough that you can speak quietly to your companions. Cocktails also get an A+ and the house sake is very nice.

My husband took our son, my mom and I there for valentine's day. It was just amazing. I never knew their appetizers, tofu and other dishes are so good as their sashimi. Worth the time, money sometimes even the wait.

I want to go back already and we ate there last night. We did the Sushi Kaiseki menu and I would highly recommend doing the lobster upgrade. The menu doesn't quite make it clear, but you actually get two extra courses with the upgrade for $20 vs. the three pieces of sushi you would normally get. That $20 gets a LOT of lobster, so definitely go for it if you're a lobster lover!

I am in DC for work. I always seach the best of "x" for one night of my stay... I'll start with I am teased for being high-maintenance and a sushi snob (both true). I stopped in based on reviews and high praise. I thought it quite good, but nothing special. I have been to many restaurants in numerous cities and all have been equal or better at 2/3 to 3/4 of the price $135 for 25 pieces and a small can of beer. Additionally, the forcus was overwhelming based on fresh and quality (while extremely important, it is expected too), there was nothing special about the food or prep. The service was competent and attentive, but dispassionate and indifferent. All said, it was nothing unique or special, felt I paid a very high surcharge to have extremely fresh high-quality sushi from a grocery store, meaning 8 choices prepared and presented.
