Have had both lunch and dinner here. Gorgeous building. Easy to get a table. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive wait staff. Very comfortable atmosphere. Food is so good. Big portions. Lots of beer choices. Outside seating when the weather is nice.

Went on Saturday 4/28/2018 about 4:00 p.m. Got seated right away and had good service. My complaint is with the food. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The first one that came out was very over cooked and on the verge of being burnt. I pointed it out to the waitress and she said she'd have them drop another one for me. The second one came out looking good on the outside, but when I cut it in half it wasn't even close to being cooked. I can't get over the fact that they served me raw chicken.... Only reason they got two stars instead of one is the manager apologized, took it off my bill and offered me something else. Unfortunately we had to leave to get to our movie in time, so there wasn't time for anything else. My girlfriend's Ruben flat bread was burnt across the bottom too, making it inedible. Dinner ruined on an otherwise great day....

I visited almost a year ago with a large party and enjoyed the service and the food, so I was really looking forward to coming back. My husband and I ordered the kitchen sink pie and a turkey Reuben - they were okay, but didn’t have as much flavor as I expected. We were a large party which as a server I can understand being frustrating, but our server Nick F acted like serving us was the last thing on earth he’d rather do. He checked the boxes for bare minimum service but was not pleasant at all. We weren’t high maintenance as far as I could tell, so you would think someone on a party with automatic gratuity would at least smile. If we come back next time we’re in town I hope to have a better experience.

I really wanted to like this place. As many have said in the reviews, the restored historic building is amazing and the owners have done a great job with the asthetics of the restaurant. That said, I just wasn't impressed with the food. Got the stinger burger and the patty was really dense and dry, very overcooked. Service was also rough, took around 90 minutes from the time we came in until the time we got our food. Others at the table were also underwhelmed with their dishes. Such a cool spot that it's worth checking out, and hopefully they can eventually clean up the execution of the menu.

I've heard great things about this place and have been eagerly waiting to go. I finally had an opportunity to go to Obed and Isaac's in January. I ordered the pot roast, which sounded amazing. Part way through my meal, I started chewing on what seemed to be one of the outside layers of an onion, that tasted very plastic-like. I quickly pulled out of my mouth approximately 3 inches of plastic packaging. I was even able to further unroll the plastic to be almost an inch wide. When the waitress came to check on us, I told her what I had found. Her immediate response was to tell me to "shut up" (not rudely but in a no way tone). I found that response to be strange. She said she would speak with her manager and then came back and told me in detail how the plastic could have gotten in my meal, which I didn't think was appropriate. She retold me the story twice. I was offered free dessert and the manager later came and told me the meal would be taken off of my bill. Mistakes happen, but this was definitely an odd experience.
