Do not eat here. This restaurant has a dark heart. They don't care about you. I've eaten here a few times and I finally had enough. I wanted to like this place I really did and I tried. I'm not sure how this place is still in business. Every time I've eaten here I have felt insulted. You want to feel like family and have some home cooking made with love? Go to Max and Benny's and save yourself the humiliation and frustration.

UPDATE : Owner took constructive criticism left in my prior review, and my most recent visit here (4/10/18) was lovely! Had the server I previously expressed concerns about, Marilyn, and it was a 180 degree turn for her. Our busboy was super attentive and noticed I was struggling with a couple carryout containers and swooped in with a bag for them. Since the restaurant has come under new management (ousting the prior owner that posted some inappropriate stuff online), the atmosphere has changed - staff seems more helpful, quick service, very generous portions. I'm always amazed at the quality of meats they use, from the steak sandwich, to deli meat, to the chicken in their chicken fingers, and the ground beef in their burgers. Beware, there apparently are two versions of menus, so diners may have different ones even if seated at the same table. They look alike but one has a few additional items. Side note: One woman who works there, middle age or so, maybe related to an owner or just a long time employee, gives customers a hard time ala Ed Debevics - meant, I'm sure, in good humor, but can come across as rude and condescending at times. All other staff interaction has been exceedingly pleasant and free from this attitude. One star removed from my review due to this today (3/20/18) - down from 4 stars to 3.

The homemade veggie burger is really good and tasty. And so is the sweet potato fries. Great fast service also. Will definitely come back.

This is NOT the first nor apparently last time that they have messed up SOUP. I just got home with my matzo ball soup only to have it contain not ONE, nor a single crumb, of matzo. There have been countless times that I have asked for additional ingredients to be put in, repeated back to me, and have been charged for! only to be ignored. I call only to be dismissed and at this point I will not return but go elsewhere. It's a shame, I adore your matzo ball soup but it's not worth this disappointment time and time again.

One of those last resort kind of restaurants. Can't reccomend it unless you have no other choice. If you like places that aren't so clean, where the folks ain't very friendly and where the food is over-priced and so-so quality the Max's is perfect. I was at Binny's and craving some lox on a bagel so I stopped in. Lox was fair but not very much of it, no onion, no tomato (I asked for both) and the bagel might have been a few days old. Pretty pricey for a not so great meal. Next time I'll drive a few miles.
