I'm very rarely compelled to write restaurant reviews, but I was extremely happy with Carson's. I had the shaved prime rib sandwich with bourbon glazed mushrooms and horseradish sauce, and one of the most phenomenal and hearty soups I've ever had served with house baked bread. The atmosphere was terrific and the $16 dollars for my sandwich and soup was an unbeatable price. I've seen other restaurants charge comparable prices for simply the soup alone. I only wish I lived closer to Lexington so I can continue to explore the menu here.

Carson's offers a casual, hip atmosphere with tasty food and a fairly large drink selection. Think converted warehouse with wood, stone, an abundance of televisions, and garage doors that open when the weather is nice. There is a nice patio that sometimes has live music. Food ranges from burgers and sandwiches to higher-end fare. Most items have a twist that make them a little unique and seem a little gourmet. It is a great place for after work drinks, a nicer dinner or watching sports. It is usually busy, and when you go, you can see the appeal that draws the crowds.

Apps were yummy, very filling. You could get the apps alone and be very satisfied. The entrees were really good, however, compared to the apps, could use some improvement. Our waitress (Julia) recommended the best drinks, you would do well at a table she serves. Overall, good restaurant.

An awesome experience while I was in town for Keeneland races. Was always crowded for dinner crowd but never had an issue being seated the two times I went on Friday/Saturday night. Great drink selection and great tasting food suitable for any mood. Pictured is the bourbon bread pudding and that is a must.

Julia was absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable able the menu and had great suggestions for both drinks and food. Spent quite a bit of my appetite on the appetizers. Such large platters meant we had ample food left to take home for another meal. Great atmosphere and great company. Eat here!
